Shane,

We may have discussed this on the Yahoo! Straight forum, but if we did, I already forgot what was said.  :???:

I was in Straight Springfield from March 1990 - June 1991.  During that time, Straight Chesapeake (aka Virginia Beach aka Norfolk right?) merged with Straight Springfield.  Unfortunately I don't remember any of the guys who came up, but I do remember a few of the girls:

- Alyssa ? (skinny girl with really long dark hair)

- Elizabeth Geisel (short girl with a round face and curly brown hair)

- Amber Portella (tiny, quiet girl with long brown hair, never smiled)

I would like to find these people as well, if they don't mind being found that is.

Shane,

When I left Straight for good in June 1991, they couldn't restrain people any more...  You could just get up and walk out of group (with people following you trying to talk you into staying).  It always amazed me that some people stayed.  Alyssa was one of those people.  She moved with Straight from Springfield VA to Columbia MD in June or July 1991 (not long after I left).  Maybe staying in Straight was better than going home to Mom.

haithcock - you skinny tarheel!
i just caught your initials.
updates on people...someone should make a giant list of names to search through or add to, by year and locality. im amazed at how good my memory is for faces and names.

i was in an ice cream shop a few months ago.
im sitting there watching families laugh and play and eat their snacks, waiting on mine to be served. And there sitting in front of me is Andy Boyd - not that many would know one name in this vast ocean of people, but i still remebered his name and face. i stayed with him for just 5 days in springfield - then kurt seiler and i elected to cop out while curtis bailey was on set back. any way, funny the things you remember.

on people id's- what is the protocol at this place?

alyssa b**ge lives in the cleveland ohio area and works in the medical field.

shane what do you do in san diego?

Please be careful about what you post on this site!! If you are using first and last names of people you really need to make sure that you aren't harming people!! Please do not ever use last names when writing about others!! Some people may wish to leave the past as the past. I don't mind discussing STRIAGHT but I do have a career to think about!!

Even if the last name has been mentioned, it's better to be safe than break someone's anonymity. Perhaps that person was mentioned without their permission. There are plenty of people that have moved on in their lives and have a career in which they would like to keep any past "sensitive" topics to themselves.

Is that you? Mindi with the Blazer??
If only you knew me now. It's too bad that you have the opinion of me that you do. Please don't discuss what you don't know about me.

Do not come here and try and tell people what they can and cannot say. If you were a bitch to someone and it is coming back to haunt you now then that is your karma.

Don't you dare try and pull that STRAIGHT bullshit and tell people what they can and cannot say.

anonymity...sounds like you are still in a warehouse somewhere

I repeat, don't tell people what they can and cannot say you are no staff member here and if this is the new you, God no wonder people posted nasty shit about your ass.

This is not rehab, you could have said that it made you uncomfortable to have your name posted here...but then again MOST people who are uncomfortable are the ones who were ASSHOLES and know people still HATE them.

I know you made a hell of a first impression on me

The others are usually looking to reunite. But no one wants to reunite with you huh?

Well then nice to meet you. For future referernce I don't need your permisson to say anything. THANX we are all free now!!!

oh and one more thing if your hindsight was 20/20 you would have stopped acting this way

               The body of
        Benjamin Franklin, printer,
(Like the cover of an old book,
            Its contents worn out,
And scripts of it's lettering and gilding)
       Lies Here, food for worms!
Yet the work itself shall not be lost,
For it will, as he believed, appear once more
                 In a new
         And more beautiful edition,
          Corrected and amended
                By it's Author!

Epitaph for himself.

--Benjamin Franklin 1706-1790

On the other hand, if the person didn't do anything to be considered guilty, then they have a right to remain anonymous if they choose to. I went back over this thread, and nothing really stuck out that indicated that this person was a "bitch" to someone. Maybe you're referring to another thread, or maybe it's cuz I'm tired. In fact, I almost didn't wanna bother posting this...godnight

That does not apply in the real world.
About the only thing you could do is try to sue someone for slander or whatever if they were to use your name (and good luck on that)

This is not Straight, those rules dont apply.
People use that rule in AA etc out of respect.

I agree, if you treated someone like shit and physically / mentally abused them 20 years ago, thats your fucking problem. Oh you moved on now and dont want people to know what a cruel person you are inside....tough shit.

I would suggest you make amends to those people so mabey they wont talk about you in public, if they so choose to forgive you.
Thats how the evils of that place lived on for so long, because we were all bound by silence. No one really ever knew just what was happening
in those warehouses because of the Straight gag order.

 Welcome to the computer age
