Hey does anyone know David Key? He was my therapist in Pathway, and I know he was in Straight for a while.

David was my foster brother at Straight for his entire program, 'cept 1st phase.  I guess we lived together for almost 2 years. We have kept in touch on and off for almost 25 years.

How was he as a therapist??

Foster brother? We never called each other "foster" brohers in Dallas. How interesting, was this unique to non Texas straights?

He was actually a pretty good guy. He was the only therapist that told me that I was probably not an addict. But was I still kept at Pathway? Yep. He had that tough ass, in you face attitude that some therapists take advantage of. But, he wasn't that intimidating really. I'm not sure why he left Pathway. Do you know?

David is a good guy.  I am glad that I got to know him and that he is my friend (still).  David left I think to go on to bigger and better things.   He is doing well as a forensic socialologist or someting like.  Heard he recently got married.  Good for him...he'll live longer.   Hope to see him sometime in 2004.

Hey, what's the law about a therapist marrying the mother of two kids that that therapist counselled? Does that make sense? Isn't there an ethics issue here or something. I'm not pointing any fingers, I am just curious.

It is unethical.  The rule, simply stated, is once a client, always a client.  No dual relationships.

Right, but is it illegal or simply unethical? Can someone's practice be threatened by a situation like this?

I have a feeling most of your ex clients want to sue you...You are a real mind helper arent ya?
How does it feel to know you are a quack..to know that you have done more harm than good?
I have read all the SAFE ex client posts and they all agree you and your cohorts damaged them beyond repair.
People read these boards and think Im fucked up...and its basically from your program.

so you must know David pretty well to know he married an exclient's mother.   I haven't really thought that much about the "ethics" of this.  I clearly see it as being somewhat unethical, but then again, I want David to have happiness and if his new wife brings him that then, well I'm glad.  He deserves happiness.  The kids won't be around for ever.  They may even be adult children now.  So, I'm not gonna judge anyone, esp David in this situation.

Sure, I suppose I agree with you. He does deserve it, and her kids are 20 and older. She's actually really cool too. Amnesty for Dave.
