Are you looking at the hot topics page? If so, that will show number of posts within the timeframe you specify in the drop-down list (default is 24 hrs)

who needs regular piss tests more than a former blowski who has his finger on the button?

Right. The hot topics page defaluts to showing threads w/ new posts in the last 24 hrs. The post count is just that. If you select last hour, it'll show you how many posts to each thread in the past hour.

The forum index (click on the name of the forum) shos total views and posts to the thread since the first one.
