Family Light consulting service funnels to Benchmark
« on: April 28, 2012, 09:49:37 PM »
Just looking around, and I noticed that not only is this site the first non-official google result for 'Benchmark Transitions,' but it engages in a DIRECT defense of the institution (particularly adressing recent court cases). They DO NOT link to any student testimonies (for obvious reasons), and their attempts to defend Benchmark indicate that they have certainly NEVER seen the fornits boards or talked to any students. Instead they say that Benchmark "deserves its reputation as one of the most if not the most trusted facility in its class for excellence of service, innovation, and self-assessment."

http://www     .familylight.com/     link3/3.03/3.032/BC/benchmark.htm

They don't seem to have any comment boards (of course) but there might be a way to deal with their prominence on google...

linking it here actually helps their google rating.. you may want to fix your post to break the link in such a way that it does not automatically whisk you away to the website in question.

LOL. Of course FamilyLight engages in a direct defense of Benchmark. Tom Croke is an EdCon and this is how he makes his living!

And, being an edcon, not only does Croke know fully and all too well of fornits, he has even posted here in the past.

I love the reference to a lawsuit against a "particularly vitriolic" former student:

Recently, Benchmark has been attacked by a former student who is making common cause with the folks who are trying to shut down all such schools and programs, but this gentleman is being particularly vitriolic with regard to Benchmark.  Benchmark is
taking that matter to court. We leave it to the  court papers to describe the specifics.   Among the more outrageous claims is the suggestion that there has been some kind of collusion between Benchmark's management and local police to cover up for an allegedly large number of completed and attempted suicides.  With a large number of referrals to Benchmark we have had some experience with our clients threatening suicide while at Benchmark, and we have been positively impressed by the way Benchmark handled these situations.

I guess Tom hasn't been too diligent 'bout updating his website, 'cuz that lawsuit went to court a few years ago, and... Benchmark kinda didn't fare too well.

Yep, that would have been the lawsuit against Psy. Which ended up costing Benchmark in the six figures, iirc... :D

Maybe that's why the above quoted links in Croke's writeup on Benchmark bring ya to...

    "Sorry, can't find that page."
