Froderik:
I know. I know.
they are limited, have different
needs and
concerns.

but I watch and learn from them.
I like the little they know,
which is so
much.

they complain but never
worry.
they walk with a surprising dignity.
they sleep with a direct simplicity that
humans just can’t
understand.

their eyes are more
beautiful than our eyes.
and they can sleep 20 hours
a day
without
hesitation or
remorse.

when I am feeling
low
all I have to do is
watch my cats
and my
courage
returns.

I study these
creatures.

they are my
teachers.

--- Quote from: "BuzzKill" ---Cats - They can add a lot of affection and adventure to one's life. Several of my favorite pets have been cats. The song writer is also a cat lover: http://wendyfrancisco.blogspot.com/sear ... 20Ragdolls

I'm currently struggling with a personality clash among the household pets. I'm "babysitting" my son's dog for a few days and my cat very much objects. My dog is being a natural born bitch. The poor visiting pup is clueless - and it has been a little tense around here today  :eek:

Cats are vermin!!

To all you cat people,
Your cats are waiting for you to die so they eat you.
Just like in the wild. They only interact with you when it suits them.

This somehow does not bother me.

BuzzKill:
Only a person who has never owned a cat could think they lack devotion. They can be as loving and devoted as any dog. They simply refuse to be doormats.  My favorite "Cat poem"

Pangur Ban

I and Pangur Ban, my cat,
'Tis a like task we are at;
Hunting mice is his delight,
Hunting words I sit all night.

Better far than praise of men
'Tis to sit with book and pen;
Pangur bears me no ill will;
He, too, plies his simple skill.

'Tis a merry thing to see
At our task how glad are we,
When at home we sit and find
Entertainment to our mind.

Oftentimes a mouse will stray
Into the hero Pangur's way;
Oftentimes my keen thought set
Takes a meaning in its net.

'Gainst the wall he sets his eye
Full and fierce and sharp and sly;
'Gainst the wall of knowledge I
All my little wisdom try.

When a mouse darts from its den.
O how glad is Pangur then!
O what gladness do I prove
When I solve the doubts I love!

So in peace our tasks we ply,
Pangur Ban, my cat and I;
In our arts we find our bliss,
I have mine, and he has his.

Practice every day has made
Pangur perfect in his trade ;
I get wisdom day and night,
Turning Darkness into light.'
