Well well. Wasn't one of the parents who gave Leigh such a hard time a couple of years ago on the faculty of GWU? I wonder if they had anything to do with the treatment in the hospital wing?

Allright. I remember Jonathan Chavez from VA straight. His son Ian was a lifer on 1st phase, and was even a newcomer in his own home. How that situation ever came about, who the hell knows. His mom looked like Charo.   Ok, I'm trying to make sense of this. Allright, the Trebach post that he made, this is slanted and distorted logic on his part. "Oh no, it's not AT ALL like Communist brainwashing because straight was brainwashing them with WESTERN values" Yeah, I know that's not a direct quote, but that's essentially the gist I got of what Jonathan Chaves (Chavez, whatever) was trying to say. WTF??? That's fucked. Yeah, in the program they always would call Ian's name out Chaves (one syllable) when it was probably SUPPOSED to be pronounced Cha-vez. But what I don't get here is the second link, the petition thing. What we see there is -

Quote
"We the undersigned are dismayed by Columbia University's decision to eliminate due process protections for those accused of sexual misconduct."

And so what? Is there supposed to be something wrong with people getting due process? Yeah, I see his name (this time it's Chaves, not Chavez) on the petition. So, what's the point??
I'm confused.  :???:
Explanation, please...

Ok, here's the letter I just sent to Dr. Chavez

Dr. Chavez, I just ran accross the most remarkable pair of documents I think I've seen in a long time.

and
http://trebach.com/letters/chavez/response2.htm

One of the elements of thought reform, as I suppose you well know, is developing in the subject person the ability to hold two contradictory concepts as both being true. While I wholeheartedly agree with the first document that appears above your signature above, I'm astounded that you can simultaniously adhere to the broad and unquestioned condemnation executed w/ a complete lack of due process which you defend in the second.

Highest regards,
Ginger Warbis

Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.
