Character building for unemployed
« on: November 17, 2010, 09:59:06 AM »
I don't if you have learned about this form for Character building. Of course we invented the LEGO bricks, but I hope this kind of therapy doesn't become some we export along side the bricks:

People who are unemployed in Denmark cannot just go around a collect food stamps. As they are a burden for our society according to our politicians who have a nice salery to feed from, it is the law that they can be ordered to partipate in job-training or courses in self-development so they are strong then they go out and apply for jobs.

So lot of the unemployed are ordered to report at centers for unemployed bringing their own wash top. Once arrived the wash top is filled cold water, some lego-bricks and icecubes. The participants are told to take their shoes and socks off and start to build figures with their toes. The purpose is to show people can even in an uncomfortable enviroment they can be creative. It is also intended to strengthen their character. If they find the water too cold and redraw from the education, they loose their welfare.

Does a similar exercise exist in the troubled teen industry?

Ah, jeeez... More bullshit experiential exercises! What is the name of this company which milks tax dollars from the system, in order to teach the unemployed some so-called character development ... through "humiliating activation?!"

The market for training of unemployed people is totally out of control in Denmark. All I right here is used to "active" unemployed people. Here is an example where people are forced to compare their person with Jung's methods, so they can see what kind of person they are. According to my mind it is only a job for a professional. It is not a do-it-yourself handyman job. People can get mentally hurt.

It is not the task of of Spft to deal with this matter as we don't have the time. Fortunately people are starting to realize that it is a totally wrong system. Here is an organization fighting for better conditions for unemployed people.

What a typically jive-ass Danish solution; no wonder you guys did so well against the Heinzes back in the day.  The unemployed should receive food stamps, weapons, and ammunition for the duration of the current crisis.
