On what grounds would Lon Woodbury have the right to refuse advertisement for WWASP without risking being sued for prejudices?

Publications can reject any ad they like without fear of suit-- it's a lie when they tell you they can't.

You have a first amendment right to publish-- and exclude-- based on your own tastes and prejudices.

Though neo-Nazi groups probably wouldn't *want* to advertise for members in the Daily Forward, the paper could reject them if they tried without fear of lawsuit.

Just as employers are allowed to fire someone for pretty well any reason they choose (so long as that person can't prove it was due to sex, age, race), publishers are similarly allowed to reject ads.

It's known as editorial judgment-- otherwise, they'd have to publish any crap anyone sent.

Exactly right. Not that he'd want to advertise in this venue, but what's to stop someone like Ed Forchion advertising http://njweedman.com/ on Woodbury Reports if the publisher had no discretion?

Woodbury advertises WWASP because he wants to. Simple as that.

I was under the impression he did not advertise wwasp because they refused to be reviewed by him. Now his reviews are a joke, he has given several glowing reviews to programs that were later shut down for abuse and even organized rape.

I guess he does now though.

Ok...thanks.  I was not sure if publications had a right to refuse an advertiser just because they simply wanted to.

This is just one of many lame excuses. When confronted for not posting news reports regarding allegations of abuse against some of his advertisers, his new slogan (defense) became, "It is more important to get it right, than get it first", even adding it to his homepage.
You can interpret that as, "I'm waiting, for an article that puts the most positive spin on the situation, and for a statement from the program."

Programs issue "press releases" exclusively for Woodbury reports that look "official". One will not find those releases in any newpaper. They bend and twist and/or blatantly lie about the facts around the issue.

It's not about "getting it right"...it's about stalling until the best article can be selected and a "press release" from the program can be issued which will contradict any negative press.

Let Lon know how you feel about him supporting WWASPS. Regardless of what he says his stance is on WWASPS, he is still a WWASP supporter by linking to WWASPS on his website in a supportive (and profitable) manor.
