We have been met with some kind of riddle. One of our volunteeres monitoring a parent board has reported that a girl is risking placement at a facility in Michigan. His problem is that he has not figured out whether the facility is on the wiki or it has been able to fly under the radar.
In the Michigan category we have:
Midcourse Correction Challenge CampMontcalm School for GirlsNational House of HopePathway Family Center (Closed)
The first one is too shortterm to meet the needs of the parents.
The second one has a too open campus - it is a TBS-light and more boarding school oriented. The campus is so open that one of the boys just walked down to the town some years ago and stole a car only to be involved in a murder charge. The facility was sued by the state, but cleared of charges.
The last one of prayers combined with 12 step. The parents seem concerned about schooling so it doesn't fit.
What is the problem in this family. The girls was a victim of alleged abuse from a birth mother. The father and his new wife (the poster) overcompensated the pity and the girl now runs her own household inside the family. The younger brother is being to pick up the girls behavior.
Here is the thread about Michigan:
Hmm. That's interesting. (Conductsdisorder)I am not saying that this family hasn't problems. The parents have created a mess for themselves. Some signs indicate that the girl could be self-medicating and she has a temper as everyone would have if guests entered their "property" without knocking. But they are not giving the counselor the proper chance to fix it. In fact they seems to doubt the qualifications which is odd considering that they have no education in this area, so by what kind of measurement do they use?
We are trying to find a facility in Michigan we have missed. Any ideas?
