Bump!

I've gotten a request for a LIFE/GT forum so I've edited the title and description of this existing forum.

Have at it, folks!

If I am of the opinion that it is inexpedient to assign to the government the task of operating railroads, hotels, or mines, I am not an "enemy of the state" any more than I can be called an enemy of sulfuric acid because I am of the opinion that, useful though it may be for many purposes, it is not suitable either for drinking, or for washing one's hands.

But I'm a ward of the state and protected by laws of this state and I've got lawyers and personal fidicuiarys and guardians and the fucking national guard and the godamned police. Try to sue me.............You can't. Nobody can. And I've got a VA man representative and a godamned whole member of the VA on the president's cabinet that watch's my ass too. My united nation's right to smoke cigarettes is protected also. :smokin:

Real criminals walk free every day to rape, rob, and murder again because the courts are so busy finding consensual criminals guilty of hurting no one but themselves.... To free cells for consensual criminals, real criminals are put on the street every day.

To you that means NAMI. you can find it   nami.org My profile and involvement is under "Elliot Ness"You got any questions go there. Antigen is a fuck up and will make you play "the Game" just like in Straight Inc.

The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the Prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this.

The reason this forum (LIFE / Growing Together) doesn't have much "life" in it, is because it was a successful program, and most people there got something out of it and have lived their life pretty fully since.  Only a few dejects have posted here, that are still bitter of their teen age rights being violated --- oh brother.

Straightlings  seem to think ALL programs were as bad as Straight.  Not so.

You're right.  I went through LIFE and it was fine.  Helped me with a few different things.  Still have a few friends from those days too.

As I understand it, LIFE was a whole lot milder than Straight at first. After awhile, though, Peterman got out of hand again, the community knew what they were looking at and pretty quickly shut them down.

The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either, but right through every human heart.

Actually, the community did not "shut them down", and Peterman left a WHILE prior to it's (LIFE) selling out to Venice hospital.  I was around for this.
A new Executive Director hired (Darlene something) started spending $ left and right, and the program ran out of funds, therefor having to sell out to Venice hopsital --believe that was '93.  Peterman retired late '91 or early '92.
Another instance of someone who WASN'T there making assumptions as to what happened.

"pretty quickly shut them down"???  The Life program opened in 1980.  It closed (sold out to another facilty and went defunct) in 1993.  Count.  That's 13 YEARS.  What a FAST shut down.  lol

How eloquently put.  You've obviously matured and developed into a fine adult. Congratualtions on your wonderful attitude and impressive vocabulary.

Ms. Pete is a cunt - she stood around and watched while I got the shit beat out of me when I tried to leave on my 18th b-day. Yes, I have matured - 25 years of growing up.  That is what helped me and probably helped   you too.   When I was sick and crapped in my pants, she woulen't let me change my clothes for almost 10 hours.  She said it was an attention game.   SO she may be Gladys nightengale (sp) to you, but to me. . . well you know.

And, if you can't understand why I feel this way then you are a goober.

Yes, Peterman was TOUGH, but I'm sure you weren't placed in a PROGRAM for your outstanding leadership as a young adult!

AS for the crapping in your pants - yuck.  I was never denied using the bathroom, NOR was anyone else I ever witnessed at LIFE.  Have you seen a Dr. about that??

I think you should admit you are powerless over your NASTY attitude and language, and come to believe a power greater than yourself can restore you to sanity.  I did -- 20 or so years ago, and I'm a pretty happy person these days.
