I can't speak for Cleveland or Ft.Lauderdale, but in St.Petersburg I don't remember a single black kid in the program. Not 1
in a group of several hundred kids. I know they recruted rich kids from the better neighborhoods, but what about the courts?
Did Barker have that much pull with the state? Was he afraid what would happen if they stood up some angry young brother?
He knew a bunch of soft spoiled peckerwoods were not about to start a riot. Not even when big black Arthur yelled at a little 10 year old kid 'YOUZ A FUCKHEAD!!!'
