not that something like that hasnt happened before, there have been incidents of kids stealing from stores and individuals around town and of kids getting help from locals getting drugs onto campus. Personally, the day i graduated, on my way out, when i stopped by the town, i stuffed my pockets absolutely full of crap from the dahlonega general store - two cob pipes, an old pocket knife, and some crystals. I also filled up a big thermos full of coffee from the "honor system" coffeepot and never paid for it... I traded the knife, crystals and one of the pipes for a 20 bag of bud and I used the other cob pipe to smoke my first bowl of ganj out of the place as soon as i got home as a big FUCK YOU to that whole town. muahahahahaa.
HLA actually turned me into a bit of a thief. I'd steal from anywhere we stopped for off-campus trips. when we went to a waterpark, i stole five hundred bucks out of people's wallets in the locker room (damn those locks were easy!). Then i used that money to buy myself a good time from the night staff - dip, ciggs, some crank, some weed, some pills, fast-food, candy, soda, cell phone usage, per-hour porn mag rentals... they also brought around a handle of local georgia moonshine dyed pink to look like our mouthwash, in our used mouthwash bottles, brought in increments (as we'd finish out "mouthwash" we'd trade in the containers to be refilled; anyone familiar with HLA's waterbottle policy knows exactly why). I brought some "mouthwash" down to the SAC once hidden in my pantleg, and gave like twenty kids a nice big squirt of 'wash' into their soda....they were forever grateful and i could get anything out of those kids the rest of my time there, and no one ever found out about my little cartel. When someone was going to narc, my eyes and ears let me know, and i made that narc either very comfortable or very uncomfortable. things were going so good, on my last visit, three months before grad, i smuggled back two grand up my asshole and threw a mighty fine party, cocaine & all...

To reiterate, it is a sad state of affairs when the Office of Regulatory Services(ORS), who is there to protect the children and families, sanctioned the contracts and placement of DJJ and DFCS children at Ridge Creek Wilderness and the mythical Creekside( which neither agency appears to be aware of it's existence, although in the bankruptcy papers). In conversations with both the DJJ (yesterday) and DCFS(today), separately each individual cited the ORS as THE major player involved in the contracts and placement of children at RCW. There seems to be confusion as to whether or not a "freeze" has affected child placement by either entity or if, in fact, placement has commenced. Although there are DJJ children who are also under DCFS care system, it is not acceptable to place DCFS foster children that are not part of the DJJ system at Ridge Creek Wilderness. It is not acceptable to place DJJ children at RIdge Creek Wilderness, period. The level of care that all these children need is simply not available. It is not acceptable to market RIdge Creek Wilderness to families that are not in the DJJ system, while currently housing or proposing to house Juvenile Offenders, freeze or no freeze. According to Educational Consultants, both Ridge Creek School and Ridge Creek Wilderness are also being marketed to Educational Consultants without disclosure of the DJJ and DCFS contracts. I am sure Tom Croke of "FAMILY LIGHT" would not have neglected to leave this part out in his latest 'kudo' review of Ridge Creek School . Ridge Creek Wilderness contract, according to the DJJ Private Contracts Department, is for room, board and oversight which was "thought" to have been granted in 2008. 20 conversations later, who knows? Welcome to Georgia. ORS - Carol Winstead and Keith Bostick are responsible for allowing this debacle, along with whomever is pulling their strings. I don't know who's payroll they are on, but it should definitely not be The Peoples.
In summation, Ridge Creek School /Ridge Creek Wilderness "College Prep with a Wilderness TWIST"? Some "TWIST".

Now? NOW? He's always been in the jail business. He's just guaranteed a steady stream of income with this new venture. No pesky parents to deal with. We all know the state doesn't check on these kids like the parents do.

Private prisons contracted by the government are flourishing throughout the country. This is SOP of late in many backwards-minded states.
When Rich people go to rehab, they are generally slightly more well behaved and level-headed - they have a goals for after they are released such as college, so they are easier to deal with, rarely exhibiting psychopathic behaviors. For any misbehaviors, a little PT and restricted privileges does the trick. Those kids rarely ever get the chance to descend into bona-fide dope-fiend land. They are sent away before they get very far usually.
When poor people go to jail, they go to jail because their parents cant afford to get a lawyer and send them some place nice. They are the system's problem, not the parents, and the parents are powerless to do anything about it. They were raised by the system, and most will be in the system the rest of their lives, and the kids themselves know it. It's a self-fulling prophecy for many of them. They dont care about college, they want to prove themselves to be the most badass motherfuckers around. Juvies are full of little wannabe scarfaces. Then there will be those kids that are total drug addicts because they grew up on the streets and started doing meth at 13 and only get caught at 16 etc etc....all combined with the kids that just started experimenting or something and found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The social dynamic of jails and juvies is significantly different than anything buccelatto has ever dealt with successfully (strictly safety) before. Knowing him and his record, he will put a bunch of crazies in with a bunch of "wrong place wrong timers", and carnage will ensue. Remember what happened with that girl that got raped with a tree limb? What do you think will happen when there are twenty of those hannibal lecters running around in the same place? What will bucci do when you have people form gangs, completely defy and shrug off all punishment, start stabbing each other, extorting each other, raping each other, etc?
