Let's have a song
« on: December 29, 2008, 07:32:26 PM »
Now I have full belief that we all remember the words so lets all sing along. and I want the hand motions with it or your shit will be blown away after "Open Meeting" !!!!!

We are going to sing...... "We are a promise"

I am a promise, I am a possibility

I am a promise with a capital P

I am a great big bundle of potentiality

And I am learning to hear God's voice

And I am trying to make the right choice.

I am a promise to be anything that God wants me to be.

(Note to readers: I do not like this song, did'nt want to learn it, and I am stuck with it after a couple decades.)

Nonetheless, you had the unmitigated courage to stand up and sing it for the group! Looks like BP has got that ol' T&R shine! You sang your druggie heart out despite the fact that you don't like the stupid song!! That says something!!! You sang with every fiber of your goddamned druggie soul, in the name of being Straight!!!!!

It's too bad more people on this godforsaken site don't follow your example. Very good, BP. I'll see you in open meeting!  :birthday:

Botched though it may be, if it works for just one druggie, if it can help just one of them get themselves on the road to sobriety, then it's all worth it....................let's have another song!!!!!!  :D

Hey Fucktard... How bout this one?:   :twofinger:  :twofinger:  :twofinger:  :twofinger:  :twofinger:  :twofinger:  :twofinger:  :twofinger:

For everything you do
I’d like to swallow you
And everyday I’m gonna blame you
Even if you justify
Every fucking bullshit lie
It only makes me want to break you
You pull me down
And you crucify my name
You make me insane
It’s broken now
Don’t ever look my way
Don’t even think I’m playin’
‘Cause I fucking hate you
You’re such a liar
And I love to hate you
You’re all the same to me
When you repeatedly
Take advantage of me
The only thought I get of you sickens me
Everybody knows your fake
You’re everything I fucking hate
And I’m everything that you could never be
You pull me down
And you crucify my name
You make me insane
It’s broken now
Don’t ever look my way
Don’t even think I’m playin’
‘Cause I fucking hate you
You’re such a liar
And I love to hate you
You’re all the same to me
I fucking you hate you
You’re such a liar
And I love to hate you
You’re all the same to me
(Fuck you)
(Fuck you)
(Fuck you)
You pull me down
And you crucify my name
You make me insane
It’s broken now
Don’t ever look my way
Don’t even think I’m playin’
‘Cause I fucking hate you
You’re such a liar
And I love to hate you
You’re all the same to me
And I fucking hate
You’re such a liar
And I love to hate you
You’re all the same to me
Fuck you (fuck you)
Fuck you (fuck you)
Fuck you (fuck you)
Fuck you (fuck you)

Oddly enough, I tend to paint Godsmack as steppers based on some of their lyrics.  Sorry to ruin Godsmack for you, but their songs are littered with 12 step language.

Example: Godsmack - Serenity

Quote
As I sit here and slowly close my eyes
I take another deep breath
And feel the wind pass through my body
I'm the one in your soul
Reflecting inner light
Protect the ones who hold you
Cradling your inner child

I need serenity
In a place where I can hide
I need serenity
Nothing changes, days go by

Where do we go when we just don't know
And how do we relight the flame when it's cold
Why do we dream when our thoughts mean nothing
And when will we learn to control

Tragic visions slowly stole my life
Tore away everything
Cheating me out of my time
I'm the one who loves you
No matter wrong or right
And every day I hold you
I hold you with my inner child

I need serenity
In a place where I can hide
I need serenity
Nothing changes, days go by

Where do we go when we just don't know
And how do we relight the flame when it's cold
Why do we dream when our thoughts mean nothing
And when will we learn to control

Where do we go when we just don't know
And how do we relight the flame when it's cold
Why do we dream when our thoughts mean nothing
And when will we learn to control

I need serenity [x2]

From "inner child" to "I'm so sick and tired of making the same mistakes .. God help me [x3]"

another:

"When you get so high that you're wanting to dye but everything
around you is turning green.
When you're getting so low and I know you've been feeling like
a dried out leaf in a summer breeze. I don't like it!"

and so on and so forth.

Just because they're generally anti-christian does not mean they don't embrace everybodys favorite recovery cult religion.

Sometimes it can get murky when those you took to be against the program (as well as against the program mentality) will out of nowhere say something that makes you wonder otherwise.

Actually, you didn't ruin Godsmack for me at all. What you are hearing in their lyrics is not so much AA or anything 12 step. You are hearing WIcca. The lead singer to Godsmack is a Celtic Wiccan, and one of my fellow brothers.

I know you like the music but there is a good chance that shit you're hearing isn't wicca, but steppery.  Explain to me how "Serenity" is about Wicca and not stepcraft.

I can see why it would be easy at first glance to think that though, especially about the song serenity. Do not forget, though, that the "program" took everyday words and put their own meanings and twists on them, along with making up some of their own words to suit the programs needs, whatever they may have been at the time.
Father Cassian: PISS OFF, you worthless piece of poop-pie! Instead of spouting off your dumb out-dated devil worshipping hate mongering, why don't you actually look wicca up on Wikipedia and educate yourself to what Wicca is actually really about? I assure you it has nothing at all to do with the devil. Oh, wow sorry, I forgot, father, but you are actually to lazy to research something for yourself.  My bad, I forgot that you would rather define things your way even if the same things have already been defined in another way beforehand. I forgot (just for a second) that you are a hypocratic, messianic, child abusing , turned satanic!

Look, just because they mention the word serenity does not make them stepcraft pushers. The word serenity existed long before  the program or the twelve steps. I can still see how you would think it, though. There have been several songs over the years I have wondered about myself regarding those steppers.

The following song has an Official Program Compatability Rating of  ZERO   :roflmao:

[SPLATTERHOUSE]

Deep in the bayou, backwoods brothel bait.
When you need a place to stay stop by Old Judds' place.
Strangers always welcome, city folk especially.
All hours of the night, vacancy is guaranteed.
Backwater grim reaper splitting your head in two.
The hillbilly butcher a hick with a grudge.
A yokel with nothing to lose.
Scream all you want, no one can hear you.
Children are just a snack.
This man and beast a kindred kind.
No escaping their death trap.
Now into the cage, like chum you are flung.
Flailing in panic and fear.
Gasping for air clinging for life.
As the beast draws ever near.
A deafening roar you can't help but scream.
As razor sharp teeth are bared.
Then all goes dark in the mouth of the beast.
You flesh is ripped apart and torn.
Your bones are crushed and you blood starts to gush.
The feeling in your legs disappears.
You choke on your snot and puke out all your lungs.
And let go of all you hold dear.
Torso is burning, digested alive.
The belly of the beast is your tomb.
A watery grave, no evidence left.
In the mire you're met your doom.
Pray for the morning, to make it through the night.
For the beast will eat anything.
Reptile kind, gargantuan beast.
Quagmire of carnage replete.
Dank fog is creeping, swamp a crimson glow.
But there is nowhere else to go.
Don't go near the water ripples with glowing eyes.
The air abuzz with flies.
Dissected, devoured, chomped, bitten and chewed.
With bloodthirsty jaws your slowly minced.
As the yokel chuckles amused.
Severed, dismembered, mangled, molested and mauled.
These swamps are savage, the gator will ravage.
A meal your life is made of.
In the swamps you rot
In the swamps you rot
In the swamps we mosh!!!

Steppers, Wiccans, or whatever----they flat-out SUCK
« Reply #13 on: January 02, 2009, 02:28:28 PM »
Godsmack SUCKS no matter what their Stepcraft affiliation (or lack thereof).  I could give a flying fuck what religion they are into, Wicca, Catholicism, Zoroastrianism, whatever.  Those guys just plain ol' SUCK.

They're also lame for naming their band after a song by Alice In Chains, forever associating the suckiness of Godsmack with the fine music put out by Mr. Cantrell and his dead junkie buddy.

Now... Let's get back on track... Which songs do you remember singing in group???

I remember one of the phasers getting up and talking about playing "Head Games," and at that point I jumped up and started singing "Head Games" by Foreigner.....

Needless to say I was put on the floor with a pig boy sitting on my arm trying to keep his hand over my mouth.

So...... Let's have a song!!!!!!!!!!!!

 :rocker:
