CCM Girl, when you "ran" where did you go, and how did you successfully stay hidden?
Well, I dropped out of the top floor of the original manor. The staff new immediately since I dropped down in front of a window where they happened to be having a meeting. So, the chase was on from the get go. I got to some bushes where I jumped in, and hid. I watched as the vans, and the searchlights scanned the open fields. Once I knew they were gone (they thought I had a ride), I started across the fields going over, and under the bob wired fences. I came to a residential neighborhood, and started down the street. I came to a house that looked out of place, and falling apart. I saw a light on inside, and knocked. Nobody answered, so I let myself in. I came across a man/boy asleep on his bed. I woke him up scaring the shit out of him.
He helped me get dressed in some mens clothing, put on a cowboy hat, and was able to clear the search party that was on the Enchanted Way Bridge (there was no way of getting out of town unless you went over that, the other was just put you directly on I-15. So, this guy dropped me off at some friends house where they had no heat, and I was hidden in a closet. They went to the store, and stole black hair coloring for me to dye my hair with. The next day my friend from Mill Creek picked me up, and took me to a house in St.George. I met these girls who went to Dixie College so they let me stay with them at their place.
So, a few weeks later I called in, and spoke with my therapist. He told me to call my folks, which I did. We worked out a situation to where they would let me live on my own. That was a very interesting year. Going from total rules, to total freedom was a blast. I have to admit I was very lost mentally. Then my Aunt and Uncle brought me to Northern California. That's where I finished out my school, and grew into the person I am today.
So, it was luck. I didn't really have a plan. I just got lucky, that's all.
