I have a question for you.

With your knowledge and following of the Skakel proceedings and the inside scoops on this and other sites that plague the net, why havnt any of you commented on the twist in the story?

Skakel was never beaten into submission. He wasnt coerced to confess as Miai 's story suggests. Skakel was forced to RECANT!

He told a few other students that he had knowledge of or participated in a murder. Its still questioned if he actually suggested Martha Moxley or not but the fact is, he spoke of it to create a bad-boy image among other students.

Ricci and Davidson had one choice really. To get Skakel to recant. To beat a withdrawal out of him and thats exactly what they did.

Elan didnt beat a confession out of Skakel, they coerced him to recant and admit that what he had said was a lie.

NY journalism at its finest.



Hate to be a buzzkill to all those who think Elan is going to vanish as a result of a NY state inquiry but heres a few points to suggest otherwise.

First, NY isnt exactly qualified to demand changes to the curriculum at a State licensed and monitored facility outside of NY.  The Maine board of education isnt in the dark when it comes to Elan and those kids are not exactly residents of NY, they are residents of Maine which may only prove to complicate matters of a NY list of "demands" Does Miai, or anyone else here think that NY has had no knowledge of how Elan operates in the 30 years it has been sending children there?

Duh.

Second. Elan attorneys will certainly extend the time it takes for anything to result from NY's letter if any results are even realized while those NY kids in Elan (if any) are not going anywhere.

Third, NY's letter is one of dozens like it, that have resulted in no significant changes to Elans program functions.

I have no knowlege of Mike "recanting"and we lived in the same dormroom for about a year. In addition i dont recall him admitting to anything and he was tortured for days at a time. I dont know where your statements come from. I dont claim to hold any gospel truths about what someone may or may not have done.Personally I dont think he did it.
As far as Elan goes. Those responsible for collecting money for the torture of kids will all burn.The are experts at hiding,manipulating,and are used to getting away with it.Have paid out god knows how much $$ to save their asses.
I remember every "inspection/walk-thru" was pre-arranged so far in advance the criminals had time to sanatize a house and make us into one big,happy family or else.I saw this 5-6 times during my stay.People with nothing to hide dont do this.
I do howeer agree with you that one letter from someone in government gives me a nice warm, fuzzy.It means virtually nothing !
I personally spoke with a lady in Maine's Dept of Ed. She could of cared less.Still have the emails.
I am a believer of something Joe used to say."It all comes out in the wash" I actually grew to like him in a strange,drug induced kinda way. Was truly a larger than life person that I socialized with a few times. I think that he knew then,that this Elan scam couldnt be hidden forever.Though I remain suprised that it still functions.Their day is coming and Sharon will now be the one holding the bag for the insanity that 30 years of kids had to endure.Whether in a courtroom,or in front of god.

I coulda lived without the fanciful conjecture but tell me you never heard of (or possibly witnessed) the signs Micheal wore that said something to the likes of "Ask me why I killed [Martha Moxley]"

They were meant to mock Skakels claim.

Krannick told me in an email that he heard Skakel talk about the Murder.
Greg Coleman testified that Micheal told him he murdered someone and later took it back and said he lied.

His testimony was that Skakel bragged that he killed someone, but then withdrew the claim when confronted.  Colemans testimony had a lot to do with the conviction. With no physical evidence other than the pieces of golf club that belongs to his mother... what else was there aside from the Kennedy name being synonymous with the word "cover-up"

Its all really irrelevant anyway, Im just surprised that nobody said anything about the twist in Maia's story. Micheal never confessed as a result of the ring or other coercing and theres no source out there to suggest he did....he was forced to say that what he told Krannick and or Coleman was a lie.

Beyond that, if Skakel copped to killing Martha in groups and/or the ring, it would have leaked and LE would have been there to get him.
No doubt Davidson would have contacted authorities before a leak. Ricci just turned things around and beat a retraction out of Skakel and everyone else blew it off as a lie.  A genius plan really. Ricci could sell cookies to a girl scout.
