--- Quote from: ""Guest"" ---HLA has many of their employees go through a training called TACT that teaches proper physical restraint techniques.  Much of the training is focused on how to avoid getting into a restraint through talking.  TACT does teach proper holds that are designed to keep the child and the staff safe.  If there were a situation that required a restraint (which was rare) one of the people that were trained in TACT prodeedures would be called in.

This is bologna.  I have personally witnessed completely untrained staff taking down kids like they were in the WWE.  I've seen this done in very, very dangerous ways...

Have you contacted Kit Wallace at DHR describing what you witnessed?  This is something that she wants to know about.

Completely false.

Again, I am stating what is SUPPOSED to happen according to HLA policy.  I am not saying that staff never went against policy.  I am sure that did happen.  There were also many times that restraining a kid was neccessary.  I do agree, though, that it should be in the parent handbook.

RobertBruce:
Didn't we hear a story a short time ago about a kid having his arm broken, this done by some of these "trained staff" members youre speaking of.

Troll Control:
Yes, we have.  And also a kid getting his face smashed into gravel and tearing it up pretty bad.  Plus several dozen other stories.
