Does HLA (not Ridge Creek)  use physical restraints?  Does
anyone have personal knowledge ?

Deborah:
Physical restraint was used in 2001.

kid_thorazine:
yeah they did from 2002-2004 as well, but ehy only use them in pretty extreeme cases (unlike Ridge Creek, where ive seen a kid restrained just for refusing to follow direction).

Anonymous:
HLA has many of their employees go through a training called TACT that teaches proper physical restraint techniques.  Much of the training is focused on how to avoid getting into a restraint through talking.  TACT does teach proper holds that are designed to keep the child and the staff safe.  If there were a situation that required a restraint (which was rare) one of the people that were trained in TACT prodeedures would be called in.

Deborah:
Many of the staff?
Does HLA disclose that restraint is used?
My manual states that they are a restraint free facility.
