VA Senator Allen wants information
« on: February 07, 2003, 04:08:00 PM »
Hey everyone!

VA Senator George Allen has requested information on the Virginia Straights. I've gathered the documents from the survivors site, but I think some personal accounts from people who were in there would be a nice addition. Especially if you still live in Virginia.

If you're interested in telling the Senator what you think about Straight, the Semblers, and the programs that are still open, now's your chance. Send it to me, preferably as an MS Word or WordPerfect document. They will be mailed to the Senator on Monday.

Shelby,

I am working on a letter.  Can you tell us more about how Senator Allen came to be interested in Straight? Do you know what his purpose is?

Thanks

Another survivor who lives in VA wrote to the Senator and told a bit of his personal story. He wrote it from the standpoint of a concerned citizen, I believe. I'm really not sure what Allen's intent is, but I included all the finished reports, a nifty internal Straight document that I'm not gonna mention here - but trust me - it's a good one, my own statement and a personal letter from Metalgod8 and I. We made it very clear that it is the Senator's duty to take action with regards to the Semblers and the open programs, now that he has the facts. Whether he will or not remains to be seen, but now that Allen has opened this can of worms, I don't plan on letting him close it.  ::deal::
