oh and Balto sounds good too. Now I need a beer. I cannot believe it is New Years.

Oh my God I spent New Years watching the music countdown on 1st phase "they" said we could watch any news years special right so we were in RI and my oldcomer was like um I don't think we can watch the music countdown and I was like any special right? Well we watched it all the wonderful songs...I love music!!!

Do you think we were allowed to watch the New Years Rockin Eve Music countdown?

When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans ...... And so a lot of people say there's too much personal freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it. That's what we did in the announcement I made last weekend on the public housing projects, about how we're going to have weapon sweeps and more things like that to try to make people safer in their communities.

Funny thing. When I got out, I took a tour through Georgia's juvenile detention. By then, all the music had changed. It was very strange to me. But I liked it. Whenever I hear Men At Work or the Talking Heads or Devo, it always makes me think of endless rounds of gin rummy played w/ 5 or so incomplete decks in a drab little room full of sad and worried, but reasonably decent girls. It's not a bad memory, really. Not as compares to, say, the day my kid discovered the Elephant Show. That did freak me out momentarily.

songs I heard on the radio before my intake Nov 11 1989 isn't that weird? blech!
A lot of the top 40 songs from 1983/84 give me a weird feeling because that was a good part of what I'd end up listening to on higher phases in there. I posted about this on the Alumni site not too long ago.

I know. This year seemed to fly by. I'll be crackin' a brew as soon as I get home. When, and if so, where were you in Baltimore?

No but I never liked Times square even prior to terrorist worries ect. Too many people and I am not big on the large opressive crowds.

I am doing the dinner drinking dancing thing.

The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good.

Forgive me, but I forgot when you were in. I seem to recall that it wasn't too much later than when I was in VA str8, which was 82-85.

You forgot to mention the Butthole Surfers, The 13th Floor Elevators, and chili made from human flesh. I liked Texas when I visited. Ther people there were laid back as hell. I liked San Antonio and Austin the most.

What about you RY? I forget, you're in a band down there, right? What locality? Maybe this summer my band could do some kind of mini-tour; doubtful, but not entirely impossible...
