Connecticut sent me to Elan. When my dad asked questions about Elan he was given a booklet that showed laughing kids swimming and riding horses. It also showed a dorm with frilly comforters and curtains! It is a lie!

I was sent to Elan for being a non-believer of the hi-yuh-yuh, well that all changed and now I believe and respect the hi-yuh-yuh.

Actually I was 14 yo. My dad gave up custody of me to my aunt and uncle who then gave me over to the state. I was sent to all these shelters for kids. 1 foster home that I did not want to leave. It was actually a loving supportive enviroment. I was not going to school because I was sent to shelters in ghetto's. I was out of place.
Long story short Elan was picked by DCF because I could live there and go to school. I was told it was a boarding school and I would love it. I would get caring and loving and support there. Yeah ok. Fuck you you bitch, you lazy asshole, I hate you, you suck, your worthless, you should die, ect. Wonderfull support. Just groovy.

Any chance you would be willing to touch base- I'm researching some of this issue and the role the state plays in sending kids to schools like Elan... would you mind e-mailing me at kat (at) cafety.org  ?

I would much appreciate it.
Thanks!!
