Has anyone given thought to the idea that maybe Laynes mon didnt want   peopel to know. Maybe she is mourning in her own way.

The quick to judgement may not be appropriate.

It was Layne's mother's call to share with others about his death.  There may be reasons behind the silence.

No, we don't know, do we?
Don't know WHEN Paula Reeves was to share her copyrighted information, now do we?

So what do people need to do to share this news?  Publish the link to PRDOTCOM or can they write their own announcement (ya know, in their own words???)

Jeez, if there is a "logical" explanation to this, I hope someone will write a press release to enlighten us because I am totally confused now.  When's the next bus to la-la-land?

How very very cute.
Sure, Paula can write a press release. She's real good at that. Can throw in a "ad" for the ole documentary, too and link to PURE while she's at it. Might pick up a referral or two!

Psst .. I checked, this domain name is available if someone wants to park it for future use.  Might be a good idea.

Nobody is disrespecting Layne's family, but rather, expressing an opinion about finding out the way they did about the death of someone they cared very muvh about and considered a friend.

Can you see the difference?

Karen called his mom, for pete's sake, and how do you think she must have felt to confirm the tragic news that Layne has passed away the first week of June more than 20 days ago?????

Somebody posted the news on Fornits, with no link to any resource, leaving people wondering if this was some kind of bad joke.

Well, thanks to BK, we know it's not, and she can hardly be considered disrepectful of the Layne family.

Anon,

Go back and read my post to Karen - I am not criticizing her in any way, I called Terry and I had to confirm the news the same way Karen did after seeing this on Fornits. In fact, Karen and I called probably moments of each other. I thought this was some sort of sick joke when I could not find anything about his death on Yahoo or Google, so I ran and called Terry and found out it was true.

I was just as appalled as Karen that we had to find out this way. It is true that the family may have wanted it kept quiet for a while. But please.

Paula has a memorial on her website - so the family must have agreed that she announce it on the internet. At least I would hope so. If that's the case, then Paula knew others would soon find out. In my opinion, that is when she should have put aside any feelings and called, or e-mailed us, and let us know about this tragedy - not let us find out this way.

Many of us knew Terry and Layne and many of us care deeply for them. Layne suffered so much and many of us have hurt inside for what he and his family have endured.

I would ask you, Anon, to please not try to start something here when I was agreeing with Karen. Please, can we please have enough respect to stop with the negative posts and move on.

Can't imagine "what feelings Paula Reeves (or anybody for that matter) couldn't put aside" long enough to let people know that this young man had passed away. Must have been really upset about something! Or, just plain ole mean.

Yeah, yeah, we get that YOU called the boy's mom too.

Go update your facility watchlist, that is what you call it right?  If so, what the hell are you watching with all those CLOSED programs?

Say Goodnight Gracie - there are no saints in the troubled teen industry because they done lost their moral compass a long time ago.

Peace to Layne and Carter, and their families.

This war will never be won as long as people can make a buck off of running programs or sending kids to them.

It's as simple as that.
