Yes, kids are dying and we need to remember that. Enough said here, time to reflect about Layne, time to support his family.

Give it a rest, Paula.
You can not longer capitalize on this young man's death.
Your little game is over.

Perhaps we should start a new thread, dedicated to Layne's memory--since this thread on Layne Brown started out so wrongly by MS ESQ.

ANON, Mom Cat or Izzie

Nobody is disrespecting Layne's family, but rather, expressing an opinion about finding out the way they did about the death of someone they cared very muvh about and considered a friend.

Can you see the difference?

Karen called his mom, for pete's sake, and how do you think she must have felt to confirm the tragic news that Layne has passed away the first week of June more than 20 days ago?????

Somebody posted the news on Fornits, with no link to any resource, leaving people wondering if this was some kind of bad joke.

Well, thanks to BK, we know it's not, and she can hardly be considered disrepectful of the Layne family.

And just how do you propose we do that?  Maybe Karen can help us, since she was kind enough to make that difficult call in the first place.

Karen, f you are reading and have some suggestions about what people can do to send their condolences, flowers, cards, etc. it would be most appreciated.

Strange turn of events teaming up with CAICA, really. Especially when just a few months ago it has been said that Sue was advising, no more like demanding, that Cheryl Sudweeks at Whitmore sue Caica!

Well, to be honest - I am not sure what to suggest.

I do have an address for his family - but I can't be putting that on an open forum. Its to late for flowers to the funeral. I just don't know.

I will see if his family has any favorite charity.

I did of corse mention if there was anything I could do -

All she said was get wwasp . . .

Maybe we will eventually find a way to actually hold them accountable. I told her we were trying.

A charitable donation would be a nice way to remember Layne.  Did he participate in any of the anti-wwasps survivor or parent-run forums where one could make a donation in his name? What about this documentary?  Can they donate to a scholarship or something in Layne's name?

Gotta be kidding. Look at all the PUSH PUSH PUSH for this documentary. It's all about lining Sue Scheff and maybe even Paula Reeve's pocket books.
Look at the deplorable way this young man's death has already been exploited. First thing out of Paula's mouth is mention of this boy's role in the documentary.  $$$$$$$ but not for  this young man's memory or his family, count on it.

"Someone posted the news on fornits with no links to any resources....."
And just who do you think that someone WAS?
Look at the words in the original post, and compare it to the words in Paula Reeves ESQ's little copyrighted feature. WORD-FOR-WORD it is obvious who made the orginal posting, OR where the orginal posting originated.
The woman lacks any class, common sense, or feelings for this family.

It was just a copy/paste - all that was done was someone saw it on Paula's site, and did a copy paste.

Could have been anybody.

Lets not fight anymore about the hows and whys and whens of the "notice".

Its a sad enough thing as it is, with out the flame wars.

Please let us all let it rest.

Well, it's kinda weird, that's for sure.  Why not just post the link and be straight up about it? Maybe the backlash wouldn't have been so critical.

I'm just really sad that Layne is gone and wish that parents with kids in these programs (WWASPS and others) would just wake up and bring their kids home.  Where they belong.

Enough of this madness.

Yea, and for a couple hours, or so, posters kept asking: IS THIS TRUE? etc...etc.
That was just wrong, to leave people hanging, and wondering if it was a sick joke or something.
It was no simple mistake. It was PURE hype.
