OH MY!! You all have been busy arguing the same point over and over. So, I'll throw my opinion in too!! Here it is: Parents are ultimately responsible for the content their children are allowed to view, whether it is a magazine, a book, a movie, a TV show or surfing the Internet. It is easier to blame the person selling the dirty magazine or producing the 'destructive' TV show, but in reality it isn't the responsibility of any one except for the parent. I am amazed that a parent would be more upset about a website message board not being regulated than having their child solicited. Why blame Smith and Wesson for those who die from gun shot wounds inflicted with their product? The analogy fits: guns are not the cause of the death, the person pulling the trigger is. So, your daughter, anon, was solicited by a sick person, not by Ginger at Fornits.
And by the way, check out any porn site on the web--most allow you to see their 'product' without providing real age verifing information. All you have to do is click the little box that says, 'Yes, I am 18 years old'. Honestly, your wasting your energy and time going after a site that is the epitomy of free speech. My right to say what I want, when I want is protected. Its your responsibility and right to protect your daughter without infringing on my rights or anyone elses who want to post here.
Why do you constantly ignore the obvious solution to your problem? Regulate what you allow her to view--but do not confuse that responsibility with my right to read, view, type anything I want.
