Hi Deborah. Hi Ginger.  Things are going pretty good.  The boys are both in the military.  One is serving in Iraq (Infantry air assault division) and the other is in Germany (information technology).  They both are happy and proud of what they are doing although, they miss home and they miss their girl friends terribly. Garred will be back from Iraq in August and Geoff will be in Germany for another year.

Geoff, who is in Germany, loves it.  He has been doing some traveling on the weekends.  He and some of his buddys take a train every other weekend and visit different cities.  He has been doing a lot of traveling since he has been there.

Garred, who is in Iraq, is not exactly loving it, but he does feel like he is doing something that will make life better for others.  He said it will take 30 years of us being over there to make a change.  He said we would need to raise a whole generation of people in order for Iraq to under go real change.  He said the people have be oppressed and beaten down for so long that they just don't have it in themselves to stand up for themselves. He said he really feels bad for the women and how they are treated.

Deborah, I am not sure what you mean by "what does that sound like?"

Are you referring to Iraq and Sadam and how he has "oppressed and beaten down" the Iraqi people and comparing that to the "teen help" industry?  If so, it sounds very familiar.

Naw, I'm referring to the arrogant and unjustified occupation of Iraq by the US, and the large numbers of innocent civilians being slaughter (beaten down/oppressed) so the US can control their natural resources.
I see many parallels to the industry.

I hope Garred is not witnessing or being forced to do this:

and if he is, that he will not suffer any psychological distress.[ This Message was edited by: Deborah on 2006-05-26 10:34 ]

Just don't see the connection--Iraq War to the Teen Help Industry, other than both are loser projects that are putting young people in danger.

Wow, what an opinion.  And the great thing about this country is you are intitled to it! I just don't share it with you.

Carey,
Are you selling WWASSP anything from here this time around or ratting out advocates to their lawyers again? These posts are not for sale and by all means, leave the advocates alone. Tootaloo
