CAICA'S SONG

Comments?  I presume the parents of the dead children gave their permission to Isabelle to tell their child's personal story in such a dramatic, some might even say, exploitive way?

thanks for the link. it was great.
i didn't hear the name of one child.

appears that the point is to show how the programs abuse kids, and did a fine job. unless you follow the industry very closely, those stories could be any kid's story for that matter.

speaking of drama and expoting- just how many threads do I want you to create on this topic? can't you post in one of the dozen or more others you created?

Pass the pepto bismo - the song made me wanna gag knowing these children are dead and someone thinks they have the right to put words into their mouths to promote their personal crusade to end institutionalized abuse?

It just never ceases to amaze me how far some people will go.  There are other ways to get your point across but that would require some common sense, if not sensitivity to the rights of victims not to be exploited to further someone's "cause".

Wow, thanks for the link. I thought that song was AWESOME! It's great that people can express themselves in different ways. As far as what you say about exploitation, I don't see that at all. I don't understand why you said that. I think this song was great, thank you for posting this link.
I think locking up teens for no reason is exploitative. This is kids who were harmed expressing themselves in a healthy and, in my opinion, quite beautiful way.

why don't you pull the burr out of your butt and get over it.
it was a very nice tribute.
you can't see that due to your own personal crusade.
what are you doing to end institutionalized abuse? put your name out there for scrutiny.
surely if a parent is offended they will contact CAICA and address it with IZ.

Um... maybe I'm missing something, but I don't exactly understand how anyone here can take offence to that song.

The song is pretty awful; pretty much nil artistic merit. The singing generally sucks, the children's voices are nothing but trite. Etc, etc. However, the general message behind the song is pretty clear: start paying attention to children dying in residential treatment centres.

So... what's the problem?

think the poem/song is a bit over the top by putting words into the mouths of children dying in a program. did izzy ask the kids's parents permission to write about their kids?

Now IZZY is a "THEY?"
That's sort of funny if you really think about it?
