no, no one is here, and no one looks at this (except the one person with the multiple usernames/avitars who creates ALL of the posts).

YES, let me see, Oct 87 to March or April 88, i was constant runner, and eventually discharged beccause I would run away every day once i had gone back to school and had friends supporting me with safe places to stay when i ran.

was 13 upon entering and 13 when i left, straight sent a letter to my mom stating i did not have a drug problem and that they reccomended discharge and family counseling, however since this was sent in the mail and I had no contact with family, after a few months I decided I had no choice but to play their game and admitted that I did have a problem, only to find out this was just after they sent the letter to my mom about discharging me.  So of course once my mom got letter and contacted them, in light of my forced admission, they decided I did now have a problem and should stay.  I found this letter years later, and my mom is very sad about it all and felt that she was manipulated and was not aware of what the program was doing for real, as no parents knew.  I have forgiven her, she did not want to hurt me.  She was very naive and they were very convincing.

However straight has fucked with a lot of my life, and it caught up with me later in life.  giving me depression, anxiety, social phobias, etc...    they suck.  i do not remember a lot about people there as the week i made third phase i started running, so being on lower phases for so long i was not allowed to get to know many, plus i was completely freaked out.  I know one girl who was in with me, and remember her well, as well as foster families, specifically do not remember many of the males, except who was in foster family and program...

i have posted before but cannot remember username...   when were you in straight?

hi,

I was brought in after you left, October 88.  My folks felt the same guilt, but only years after i "graduated" and never went back.  many of us in there did not have drug probelms, but other issues, i was a perpetual runner as well, but not once i was in straight, spent time in juvie facilites before being court-ordered to straight, or so they said.  hope you and all who read this are doing well now.

Hi,

I remeber my username (Mamma Bird) but my password eludes me, as doed which e-mail address I gave fornits.

I went in in August 1988, so we must know each other.  There are a couple people from that time period around.

 Hope you are well.

 Erin

Erin, if you'll tell me what you want your pwd to be, I'll reset it. Use any of these means:

The fact is the fact, the program is evil, and every attempt to make

hey i left in spring, so if u were in august 88, we missed eachother by a few months...   i remember one person who i have communicated with.  some stayed at my home as it was in ann arbor and close.   i always wondered if they discussed in group when someone ran, as once i ran straight, ugggh, out the back doors during group.  staff just chased me and screamed at me a 13 year old girl at the time how i was going to be a  prostitute if i did not have straight in my life...

I was 13 when I went in too.  They pulled that "you'll sell yourself" shit on me as well.  I'm glad you made it out.
