Afghan Whigs - "Faded"

That's the way I've felt this week, I've had the Sinusitis Blues - force myself into work, tech Chinese guitars("gilding the Asian excrement") for eight straight, drive home - sleep like a corpse, resume cycle, all the while with my head feeling like it's on the verge of splitting down the center.

Funny you should mention that one........I was digging on it recently,  it was a perfect soundtrack for the situation.

I really really get into a few certain, select pop songs, and that is definitely one of my faves.  I really like the lyrics to that one, the whole "been downhearted baby.....ever since the day we met" chorus, and the "wade like lions through the crest and bathe ourselves in zebra flesh" line, and the line "Mother Theresaa's joined the mob/unhappy with her fulltime job".  Great fucking song........

Since we're (or at least I am) on the subject of radio hits, here's a select bit of what I was listening to in my dopesick- (and then methadone-) induced insomnia (damn but dope fucking energizes me.  I usually just bear through the occasional days when I can't score, and a day off the shit doesn't really bother me.  Last night, though, was pretty fucking rough, at least 'til my pal SuperJew laid a few 10mg methadone tabs on me. )  So anyway, I was up all night, listening to FM radio (all over the fucking dial), and here's some of the shit I listened to:

Steely Dan--"My Old School"

Wolfmother--"Woman"

The Verve--"Bittersweet Symphony" (fuck Andrew Loog Oldham, that's a fucking great song ....SEE SECOND PARAGRAPH)

Coldplay--"Clocks" (The fact that Froderick likes other songs by these guys is the sure tip-off that he's gay.  Not that there's anything wrong with that, but "Clocks" is the only song by them that doesn't register really high on the ghey-ometer.  This is also another example of the cheesy pop songs for which I have an affinity.)

The Fixx--"One Thing Leads To Another" (this, and "Saved By Zero" are even more examples of the aforementioned pop song fetish.  Great songs.)

Nirvana--"Heart-Shaped Box", "Serve The Servants" (OK, so "Servants" wasn't on the radio, it was on a CD player.  The first song inspired me tho throw on In Utero, but the damn thing kept skipping, so I went back to the radio)

Lynyrd Skynyrd--"That Smell" (oh Hell fucking yeah!!)

Jerry Garcia--"The Wheel"

Queen & David Bowie--"Under Pressure"

Stone Roses--"Love Spreads"

The Who--"Love, Reign O'er Me"

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Although I haven't heard any of that, it just sounds like a great set!

Sabbath bootlegs an' Zeppelin bootlegs followed up by Black Flag.  Tough.

Tear the place down, bro.
