"Rome went from an elected republic to an empire, then ruin (the citizens went bankrupt paying for the gigantic armies). Will the fate of the United
States follow suit? To be an elected republic representing the interests of the citizens, or an empire representing the interests of the few; which will describe the future United States of America?" Diana Lee

"From 1945 to 2003, the United States attempted to overthrow more than 40 foreign governments, and to crush more than 30 populist-nationalist
movements fighting against intolerable regimes. In the process, the US bombed some 25 countries, caused the end of life for several million people,
and condemned many millions more to a life of agony and despair." -- William Blum

"It's not so much what folks don't know that causes problems, it's what they do know that ain't so." Artemus Ward

"True compassion is more than flinging a coin at a beggar, it comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

"If we are serious about ending poverty, we have to be serious about ending the systems that create poverty by robbing the poor of their common wealth, livelihoods and incomes. Before we can make poverty history, we need to get the history of poverty right. It's not about how much wealthy nations can give, so much as how much less they can take." Poverty Bulletin
