About 6.5 months. After I got my 180 day start over and sent to my own home as a newcomer, I was getting worn down. The Execs threatened to transfer me to Boston; even sending Boston Execs to Cinci to "observe". I fought like hell and was rewarded with decompression at a psych ward. Then home like nothing ever happened...Jason

If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny.

After looking over the ranges of time spent by survivors of Str8, I began to wonder why. Some people misbehaved, complied, "slid thru", actually believed (at the time they were being "treated" or a combination of the above.

Going through my books (as I load out), one quote summed up my position pretty damn well:

"A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week"
(General George S. Patton, Jr. U.S. Army)

Any thoughts? It's fucking ancient history, but I still wonder how and why some people were stuck there for so long...Any thoughts? Jason

I think my first phase was a few months because I copped out twice and was started over twice. 5th phase was a bit over a year. I freaked out in open meeting on 5th phase and was yelling, swearing, laughing, crying and kicking over chairs. Put on a 3rd phase 14 day refresher.
Of course my reference of time is a bit hazy after all these years so I can't give exact time lengths. I know that I didn't spend very much time on 2nd - 4th phases.

I remember how we had to write days on each phase at the top of our MI's, but those have been gone for ages. I threw all of them away shortly after coming home.

Damn, now I'm sitting here trying to figure these months out....

I cant beleive it, but I actually remember pretty well how long I spent on each phase. 1st was about 2-3 months (probably closer to 2+ some). 2nd and 3rd I am a bit fuzzy about, but I think 2nd was a few weeks to a month, 3rd was about 2-3 months, 4th was 6 months with one brief set back to 3rd, and 5th was 4 months.

I never misbehaved nor copped out and was fairly compliant, out of fear of course.
