Just like my calling anonymous posters cowards, if you post anonymously and my comments ticked you off then apparently the shoe fit, otherwise you would have moved on. "

The Hyde principles you cite (courage, integrity, leadership, curiosity, and concern) are fine concepts indeed.  I embrace them wholeheartedly.  The basic problem that many of us have is with Hyde's implementation of these principles.  You seem to have had a good experience.  Many of us are not having a good experience; some of us are witnessing grossly negligent practices at Hyde and a great deal of hypocrisy.  If you take the time to read this board's postings, you'll see lots of instances where Hyde staff violated every single one of these principles, and sometimes in ways that are cruel, unconscionable, and very damaging.   Disagree if you like; many of us have documentation to prove that the incidents occurred.

Parents who are considering Hyde should know that Mr. Davis's reply is standard Hyde-speak.  He is using language and terminology that is pervasive at Hyde.  People either buy in or walk away (or suffer in silence until they're out of Hyde).

As an aside to Mr. Davis, I thought you said you were no longer going to visit this site and that you were moving on.  Was that not the truth?

"Wow, the place really hasn't changed much since I went there. I won't tell you not to go if you really feel you need to support your family, but I can assure you it's not a getting to know each other thing with fun activities. I call Hyde the "no fun zone." Read the threads on this board very carefully. There was nothing I hated more than family weekends when I there.

Expect to get sucked into the drama. My advice (besides avoiding the place)? Stand your ground. Don't let any obnoxious, know it all jerks push you around."

Saw this board for the first time. I would just like to echo Larry's, (Lars) sentiments. I was one of those parents who was sucked into the drama of the moment, which thankfully I transended as the months went by and realized the hypocrisy and dishonesty that permeated the entire hierarchy of Hyde School.

The Ed's of the world can B.S. all they want, but the truth is Hyde is nothing but a Cult and unfortunately a dumping ground for children whose parents are desperate to find an answer for their various problems.

And for Ed's reference or anyone else my name is Steve Feig.

Thanks for not running and deciding to stay and contribute.  Its good to have a balanced discussion.  As for your adversity towards Anons, we understand, there are worse ways for you to let off steam and dump your anger.
