No, Ed. I think it's more than a chip on the shoulder for a lot of people. It's genuine anger at the abusive, arrogant & manipulative way that Hyde treated us and our families. Many people here feel the same way. I understand that the folks at Hyde and some of the people who went there believe in their system. But you can't dismiss those who don't agree as simply having a chip on their shoulder. Also, you have to understand that the folks posting here really aren't concerned with whether you or any one at Hyde respects them. Like I said, have a look at my posts. If you think I'm off base, feel free to say why.
Peace.

I have to say that of the hundreds of postings on this website, yours come across as just about the most petulant and least mature of all of them. I realize this may not concern you, but I think this reflects very poorly on Hyde. If your offensive language and tone are typical of Hyde graduates, that's a pretty sad commentary.
If my math is accurate (you graduated in 1990?), you are probably about 33 years old. It makes me sad that someone who is in his mid 30's and is a Hyde graduate would communicate the way that you do. Your communication style seems remarkably similar to what I've observed at Hyde many times, especially in some seminars. This, of course, provides even more damaging information for any parent who is considering enrolling their child at Hyde. Parents, is this the kind behavior you hope your child will engage in fifteen years after graduating from Hyde?

Wow, I am amazed at this guy Ed, but not totally surprised given the type of people who defend Hyde. Yes, some people are anonymous, but maybe they have their reasons, none of which need to be explained. Hyde mimics the 12 step programs and meetings where no one divulges their full names! This is the same reason why some might not be divulging their names here. This is a safe place where people express their experiences both good and bad.
If you are an example of a Hyde graduate Ed, all that I have to say is that you are validating what is posted on this board about the school. No one here has hurled insults like you have. We have a mature, intelligent rap going and if you want to continue to act out, then you are the one sir who looks like the fool! If you disagree on what is said about Hyde, then say so, but do it respectfully like the rest of us.
TheWho:
I thought he would run. My daughter had a friend who would adamantly defend a group of friends that were obviously bad news and would slam anyone who said anything bad about them. But if you asked her what traits or good things that she could say about her friends she would get angry and leave the room say something like "You guys are morons"
I saw some of that in Ed, he wanted to believe that Hyde was good because he vested so much time there and it was part of who he was and is. If he admits that Hyde wasnt that great it would reflect poorly on himself. If you held his feet to the fire and asked him to share his positive experiences he would come up empty, he knew that and that is why he ran. Similar to my daughters friend Sally.
Ed Davis:
I didn't run. Nor will I ever. I stand behind Hyde and all of those individuals who have dedicated their lives to helping your children. How can you be upset with a group of people that are helping your kid to value, courage, integrity, leadership, curiosity, and concern. If you don't value those five words and believe them to be a good foundation for which to try and live your life then Hyde is probably not the place for you. I'm sure some of you did have bad experiences, but i ask, was it the principles that you had a bad experience with or was it an off-base individual and if that person was off-base why would it bother you? Just like my calling anonymous posters cowards, if you post anonymously and my comments ticked you off then apparently the shoe fit, otherwise you would have moved on.
