Just some hippie couple who likes money. (Seriously, check out how much they charge for training fees for "cuddle facilitators". $950-$1050!! But hey, you get snacks with that!) I have no idea how much their facilitated "cuddle parties" are themselves, I can't find a price anywhere, but they do cost money, because they have gift certificates available in the "cuddle gear" section of their site. (What? You mean I'm supposed to PAY to go hang out and mash myself up against strangers in pajamas for four hours??) They also don't mention how much their workshops and seminars are. Makes me wonder what the sticker shock for that is, as well.
I also noticed how nauseatingly often they use the term "create a safe space". Now seriously, this is probably the first time I have heard people use this phrase outside of CEDU. Guys, am I crazy? Has anyone else heard normal people use this term? Do I just have amnesia?
Don't you love their line about how this isn't sexualized and how many restrictions they have put in place to make it so. Yeah, I've heard that before. Face it, smooshing gets people off. It doesn't matter how many "cuddle lifeguards" you have on duty doing boner checks or how many times you encourage people to enforce their boundaries, it's gonna happen, ok? It's not repressive like CEDU is, so you don't have that repressed sexual tension, but it's still gonna happen.
I could still, however, see a lot of suceptible affection-starved people getting bilked out of a lot of moolah and time by following around this Reid couple, don't you?
