Red Rock Academy and Linden House

These two WWASP programs just disappeared.  Anyone know why?  I know the Bundys went off to form their own teen-killing business but why close down?  Couldn't they have sold it as a going concern?  It's not as if these places don't make any money and yet I haven't heard anything about either of them being forced to close.  Does anyone have any info?

Red Rock Academy was a transitional facility for prisoners about to turn 18. Some hints about its history can be found at the staff bio page of White River Adventure, a WWASPS spin-off in Puerto Rico:

"Justin Nielson joins our team of professionals with 10 years experience in working with troubled teens, marketing of troubled teen programs, and beginning and operating programs. Justin has worked with Brightway Adolescent Hospital, an acute care hospital for teens with conduct disorders. His services were rendered as a Psychiatric Technician and an Assistant Recreational Therapist. His family consists of him, his wife Jennifer and two sons, Noah ages 5 and Griffin who joined their family 3 months ago. His family has participated as a group living home for foster youth and as a tracker for the state of Utah in tracking and assisting adjudicated teens. While working with the State of Utah Justin became certified in Targeted Case Management through a series of courses required by the state. Justin was a key player in the establishment of Adolescent Services Inc., a marketing service for programs all over the world. His services were in the area of Office Manager in establishing ASI as a reputable service for assisting families to find help for their troubled teen. Justin was asked to direct the Red Rock Academy in Southern Utah in early February 1998. His responsibilities included all facets of establishing and running the day to day requirements of a Residential Treatment Center 1) Academic, 2) Therapeutic, and 3) Group Living. Red Rock Academy was purchased by Cross Creek Programs and Justin returned to ASI. ASI was purchased by Teen Help where he continued serving families in finding placement for their youth. He has now put his full effort into assisting White River Adventure to provide quality services for families in need. Justin also speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish. He is a Certified Instructor for International Association of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, CPR and First Aid Certified and attended Dixie State College where he studied Psychology."

Another WWASPS program that disappeared was Red Rock Springs Assessment Center. It was supposed to fulfill the same function as Brightway.

Red Rock and Red Rock Springs were both operational back in 1999.

According the Desperate Measures article, Linden opened in 1998. A WWASPS marketing site from "1997-99" has its logo (http://64.233.179.104/search?q=cache:Aa ... eens&hl=en)

The teen prison directory site mytroubledteen.com lists Linden in a page labeled "2000-2002". (http://www.mytroubledteen.com/206.html)

Conclusion: Red Rock Academy seems to have merged with Cross Creek, Red Rock Springs simply disappeared, and Linden was shut down sometime within the last 5 years. There really isn't that much info out there.

Once you're on the website listed above, you can go to another link and you'll see it's most definitely WWASP. http://www.adolescentservices.com/progr ... +lindhouse

Wasn't Red Rock Springs the starting point for kids headed for TB or Paradise Cove after Brightway closed down?
