memories......good or bad
« on: June 23, 2005, 08:38:00 PM »
have you ever been in an odd place and all of the sudden for no apparent reason a rebekah memory will pop in your head?
I am sure i a not the only one but just today i remembered some issues i had at the homes.
Was it the dorm parents evil ways? or were they like that because of Roloffs teachings?
i think a little of both.
any comments?

Did you ever notice that in the dorm there were no pictures of Jesus. Yet there were 25 pictures of Roloff? Werent we taught not to have false idols? Explain this to me,Roloff!

I think that no matter what we are doing some stranger walks up or something and it comes rushing back. Good or bad it is a part of who we are. Roloff did not believe in  those pictures they where idols. Just like a christmas tree not allowed. They never gave us presents did any one else get one?

He put his pictures on everything. post cards,(church newspapers) Did any one see him in the picture the papers made up? With a bible in one hand and a whip in the other standing behind a jail cell?
I talk to Granny the other day. It was sure odd.
first time I talked to her in 30 years.

The Friday night plays skits we called them,
Homemade Ice-Cream, Peanut butter snack with M&M"s, And PaPa making pancakes once a month on Sat. Flying with Roloff through the thunderstorms not so good, but going to the lighthouse to fish with the boys, so cool!
Caught a dog fish, and learned to go floundering.
which was going a long the shore of the intercoastal with a flash light and a geg (spear)
attached to a string- geging flounders. I got my first one and put it through the geg down the string and then when it started flapping in the water behind me I bet I run a mile.
flying to the vally to pick oranges and fight bees-
And tours-Had some good times on tour.
Doing paint by number pictures
Sharing my stuffed animals with the new girls so they wouldn't cry.
Sneaking food and trying chocolet ants for the first time,a little crunchy- but it was chocolet.
Making ink marks on the girls legs during chruch.
Wrighting in each others bibles.
Hearing James Taylor for the first time on tour.
Sneaking a radio under my pellow only to get caught.
hiding in the closets to talk
Our first basket ball court
Sneaking out letters on tour

what freaks me out is for no reason a roloff song will come to mind, i still remember all the songs after all these years.LOL, talk about being bad, we would take a church song like "somebody loves me" and put the boy we liked at the time, name in it instead of Jesus! HEATHENS!

i remember a worker putting a hair in my sink, and then writing me up for it!! Sometimes I think the workers were as brainwashed as us.
