who needs a house out in hackensack
« on: November 20, 2002, 05:13:00 PM »
hello.  I was in Kids of BC from 1988-1990.  Just figured I'd finally register since I've been reading everyone else's posts.

I just don't feel ready to give my name yet. I hope you understand. It doesn't make any sense to remain anonymous, but still, I need more time.

No, just the Hackensack one. Were you moved from one facility to another? Where you there in the late 80's also?

The late 80s.
A tumultuous time...  A time of food rules and a 50% rebellion.  Almost a mutiny.
5th phasers frozen on day 1.
Nonworkers leaping out of their seats trying to grasp at any attention they could get, even if it meant getting thrown to the floor.
Raps with a half-dozen in group, the rest restrained or restraining....

My the floor was cold, be it against my back or my knees...

I was there.  I'm sure I've seen your face....
Much has been forgotten, but much lingers on....

You're sure you've seen my face? Oh you poor dear. Back then my face was 2 huge dark circles under the eyes, lots of acne from the stress, and that look of pain (of course) we all had from having to use the facilities but having to hold it in, either because we were told "no, you can go later" or because we had no idea who we had permission to ask to go! AH, memories...Anyway I go when I want now and my face is beautiful.

PS - I think I need to have coffee before I post for now on. I'm not sure what I just typed.

It's amazing. We know in our minds that there is no way they can get us now. we know that our minds are our own, and that we are safe.  But there is still this underlying need to protect ourselves. I guess that's why some of us are nameless, like me.
