ISAC $$$$$$?

Mom and Dad might not be so keen on helping out because,  implicit in the fact that the child considers himself a survivor of an abusive program,  the $10 is going to ISAC to advertise the fact that mom and dad basically paid somebody big bucks to kidnap their own kid and subject him to child abuse by proxy for an indefinite term.

Ordinary moms and dads have a tough time with that.   We are all geniuses when it comes to matters of self-justification.

Scott, a lot of kids might not be so keen on that idea either. I know that when I got out, I was real nervous about the arrangement with HRS housing and legal representation. All I wanted was out. I was close to my 18th birthday and had worked, at least part time, from the age of 14 till I went in the program at around 16, so I wasn't afraid of starving or anything and didn't want any cash help. When the HRS lawyer (or someone into the mix, it was a long time ago) asked my straight out if I wanted to bring criminal charges against my parents, I declined. I also almost ran from the group home that night, thinking they might find some way to use me to hurt my parents anyway.

The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. ... All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.
