Hey wasnt Penny a Straightling Sarasota? She had a sister who came into the program for sniffing a marker 1x and not to get high she just you know opened the top sniffed it and wrote with it. Oh yeah she sipped her dads beer once I believe. Does this sound familiar to the Sarasota people? If this is the same Penny She did my intake with Debbie. Debbie was a red head and had all sorts of family in the program. Debbie always reminded me of John Cougar in the early days. She could be his daughter.
So if this is the same Penny then KHK people theres your tie to Straight other than Miller. Has anyone ever looked into the fact that they took staff from Straight and started KHK. Well if that isnt Pandoras box. I hate that my life is consumed with all of this.

Ya' know, Sammie, I've had a vague sort of recollection whenever I've read that name. But I keep mixing it up w/ Penny and Lisa (who's name was not Walker) and can't quite recall a face or anything. Wish I knew.

Would this be someone quite heavy set w/ heavy glasses who shoved me around during excercise rap when I had come back from splitting w/ a bad case of bronchitis? This would have been April of May of `81 and this Penny I'm thinking of would have been a newcomer shooting for 2nd phase (hence the shoving to get me to run)

Penny was not in straight as a client.
She was the director for KHK when I was there in 83-84 and she would have been too old for a kids program even a few years prior. I can't tell you much more than that. She was definitely college educated. She used to bring her guitar out and sing"coat of many colors" to the group....AWWW TENDER MOMENTS in between the TORMENT of 13 year olds tearing down the walls of their twisted teen minds.....sexual thoughts and all.

Click here to check the website out and her creds:
http://www.kidshelpingkids.com/Staff.html

Hebron had no air conditioning and was in the middle of Bumfuck Kentucky. At least the Greater Cincinnati Airport was close if you could make it there and beg enough to get the fuck out of Dodge.....didn't happen so I allowed the brainwashing to take effect knowing that I could deprogram later.
Much Later.......

KHK had many similarities to straight but I felt safer as a seven stepper than my friends who were straight seven steppers. I had some paranoia being an out-of-towner catching the surprise Set Back at 7 step rap but that was fleeting. They, however, were on edge all the time thinking someone was following them to bring them back to THE BUILDING. I remember that they (KHK) tolerated smoking (7 Step of course) to a certain degree as long as you didn't come into group wreaking with a pack of cigs in your shirt pocket. Straight wasn't so kind from what I have heard.

Long Term = BIG $$$

Now how bout a nice long T&R session since the group has been so good?

Back in 82-83 when I was a 7th Stepper,(in Straight) there was only one person that I knew of that smoked and he was a 7th Step Officer.

Did they have 7th Step Officers in KHK (they primarily led raps and to a small degree disciplined the 7th Steppers.

The morons in the Michigan program would not allow graduates to stand behind group if they were "imagey" or smoked. I was allowed to stand behind group maybe 3 times. I'm embarrased to admit that I was hurt about it. lol. I know, I know but the brainwashing was still fresh and all.

am looking for people who survived Straight in Plymouth, Michigan. I miss a lot of people there and wonder what happened and would like to stay in touch.

After I left staff and became a trucker the staff felt very uncomfortable with me visiting the group.  Long hair, jean jacket, chain wallet, boots.  OMG you'd think I was a walking poster child for the road to relapse the way those goofs reacted to me.

The kids in the group on the other hand were thrilled to see me and didn't judge me by my appearence.

The second time I came for a visit my hair was just a touch over my shoulders.  An executive staffer tried to prevent me from going into the group room.  I asked her if I had been placed in "bad standing", and just forgot to mention it too me.  She said no, but still insisted that I leave the building.  I refused.  In fact I gave her to the count of three to move or be moved.

She moved.  LOL

This sort of shit would never flush at SIBS, my friend.

If you dared display this sort of disrespect toward executive staff we would promptly have your ass dragged into GROUP and thrown onto front row with 3 days to relate & 14 days to stand up in homes rap.
