Where did it come from?
« on: October 26, 2002, 02:49:00 PM »
On June 18, 1993, three days before Straight official  Kathleen M. Cone created a Straight-like program named Phoenix Adolescent Institute in Marietta, Ga. just  4 ½ miles from the Straight facility in Marietta, former Straight official Helen Gowanny  helped found  Pathway Family Center only 15 miles from the old Straight facility near Detroit.  Pathway Family Center is the second program which has adopted many of Straight's non-destructive methods to have an expansion program.  It recently expanded into  Indianapolis.  Miller Newton's KIDS program was the other.  Dr. Newton,  who now calls himself Father Casius,   had been the national clinical director for the Straights.   KIDS closed down all over the country under allegations of child abuse.   Like Straight, Inc. Pathway has received good press coverage as in this DetroitNow Channel 7 News (ABC) report in 2001 at http://www.detnow.com/news/0102151102.html  and the accompanying video at http://real.scripps.com:8480/ramgen/wxy ... 2151102.rm .  As with all Straights there were allegations of child absue at Straight-Detroit and Straight-Atlanta.
