so i was just wondering how familiar you guys are with cascade school, which recently closed.  It was based on and founded by former students from cedu (some of the workshops described here are very very similar).  i was there from 99-00.  it sounds from the posts here that cedu schools are really fucked up, and i was just wondering how similar you think the two schools are (or were, i suppose).  though it had some serious problems, and though i resent much of it,  cascade was certainly not as bad as cedu sounds based on the posts here: ineptitude, but not sadism from the staff, harshness, but probably not cruelty in forums, etc.  are you guys familiar with cascade?

oh just to add: i read a girl here describing being forced to wear a sign saying slut and offering oral sex, just as a punishment or something, this shit never would have gone down at cascade, troubled though it was  [ This Message was edited by: mgw on 2005-04-10 23:34 ][ This Message was edited by: mgw on 2005-04-10 23:34 ]

Hi!  Well, I went to Cascade for four monthes and then got kicked out and went to Cedu for almost two years.  Honestly, while at Cascade I heard horror stories about Cedu but they weren't true.  Cedu was practically the same as Cedu (at least in 94).  The main differences were that Cascade was newer and thus had nicer fascilities.  like air conditioning, a freaking waterfall near the dinning hall, heated pool, gym, ect.  but Cedu had a much better location cause we went on trips to Dana Point, Disneyworld, ect.  While at Cascade if you were lucky you got to see a movie in Redding.  at Cedu we could at least walk to a resteraunt or the convinent store as an older student while at Cascade there was nowhere to walk to.  thu there were cool hikes right off campus like I remember going to a waterhole once and then there was the blackberries.  Anyways, but in terms of other things, like raps and stuff they were very similar .  OH, but at Cedu our prophets were overnight while at Cascade you got to sleep and they were two days.  Sad to hear Cascade closed.  Though I was pissed at them for kicking me out.  Oh, well.

Cascade was founded by former staff and students of CEDU in the fall of 1984. Michael Alllgood was the former headmaster of CEDU. Pretty much all of the staff at the beginning was former CEDU staff or recent graduates. Quite a few left after a brief time to create Amity with John P.
