Chris sutton was locked up in paradise cove for years.  His parents had a court order to keep him there after he was 18 and they did.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Police are looking for the 25-year-old son of a Coral Gables woman who was killed in August.

On March 16, police arrested Garrett Kopp, 21, for the murder of Susan Sutton, but investigators now say Kopp gave police information linking Sutton's son, Christopher Patrick Sutton, to the death.

Susan Sutton was killed during a rampage at her home Aug. 22, 2004. Her husband, John, a prominent Coral Gables attorney, was shot in the head and left blind in both eyes.

"After the investigators spoke with Mr. Kopp, he gave him information that implicated the Sutton's son, Christopher Patrick Sutton, on the murder and attempted murder," said Nelda Fonticiella, with the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Police are looking for Sutton and a black 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck with Florida license plate V99-YZP.

Though a warrant has been issued, police aren't saying how Sutton may be connected to the shootings.

"He is considered armed and dangerous," Fonticiella said. "We are asking anyone who sees him to contact Miami-Dade Police Department."

Kopp remains in jail. He is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.

How does a parent get a court order to hold a kid in one of these programs past the age of 18?  Don't they know these kids have the right, once they reach the age of majority, to contest any court order?

A parent can get custodianship of their children past the age of 18 by court order.  Parents usually do this when they feel the child isn't making the best decisions for themselves.  How many children do you think are smart enough to hire an attorney to contest?

I was there when I was seventeen and "played the game"  I told everyone I wanted to stay past the age of 18 because "I wasnt ready"  In actuality I knew that if I said I would leave when I was 18.  My peers (other half brainwashed and completely brainwashed kids) would of sent me to level 1.  My parents would of been notified and could of gotten a court order to keep me there. so I stayed an extra month or 2.

I got to SCL when I was 17 and did the same thing. I was threatened with a court order too... didn't realize this was standard practice.

Gables murder suspect arrested

25-year-old was wanted in 2004 attack on his parents, police say.

Miami-Dade police arrested a Coral Gables man Friday wanted since March in connection with the murder of his mother and the blinding of his father.

Detectives arrested Christopher Sutton, 25, on warrants of first-degree murder and attempted homicide in Miami.

His parents, John and Susan Sutton, were both shot in their Coral Gables home in August, during what police called an attempted robbery. Susan Sutton died in the attack. John Sutton, a prominent Miami-Dade County attorney, called 911 before collapsing into a coma for several months.

Police arrested Garrett Kopp, 21, in March in Homestead on a first-degree murder charge. Detective Randy Rossman with the Miami-Dade Police Department said Kopp is thought to have been the trigger man in the attack. During a confession, Kopp implicated Christopher Sutton, Rossman said.

Detectives put out a warrant March 26, but couldn't find Christopher Sutton. Police at the time thought he had fled the state.

Detectives got word Friday that Christopher Sutton was at a pay phone near 40th Street and 39th Avenue in Miami, Rossman said. Coral Gables and Miami-Dade police swarmed the area and arrested Sutton.

Rossman said he did not know what involvement Christopher Sutton had in the attack, but his arrest closes the case.

It doesn't look like all that tough love helped him.  Brutality begets brutality.  These programs do extreme psychological harm.

Every time I hear "Miami Dade police" I always picture Horatio and team from CSI Miami...not to get off topic.

I feel sorry for the kid.  It's frustrating that we who feel for the kid are in the minority.  Unfortunately, people will think putting him in the facility was justified.  He turned out to be a killer, after all.  People won't believe that one of these facilities could have turned him into a killer.

Well, on the one hand, if he was horribly abused and psychologically damaged enough, he could make a choice like that and not realize what hes doing. However, you all went trough abusive programs and didnt kill your parents. I wonder if his Mom was just doing what she thought was best for her son. In that case she was murdered because she loved her son and ignorantly sent him somewhere abusive. She didnt abuse him. i wonder about hte whole story. If he was abused, did he tell her and she didnt believe him? Is he chemically imbalanced? I dont think it is ok to kill another human being unless your life is in jeapordy or unless your saving someone elses life. But to kill someone because of resentment? Is there more info on this case about the program that is involved? Does he blame the program for the crimes?
