Not sure what North Star Expedition is, but I cannot stand "Survival type programs" which I believe are similar, and mine was run out of Utah. They drop you off in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night. You are forced to leave your pack which consists of pre-measured food, and a grey wool blanket the size of an airline blanket, and twined shut. The twine serves as your backpack straps.

You share a cantene with one other person. We hiked all night. Slept on the desert floor with all kinds of critters, we ran outta water..........drank outta puddles. We were lost, and it took us 3 1/2 days to find our way to our packs. I had turned green, my skin and hair. We kept having to stop for one minute breathers because of me, and a couple others. The heat off the day, the cold of the night, the freak hail storms......I didn't think I was going to make it, and I was in pretty good shape. I'll never forget seeing the surberbans, and crying. I found my pack, and ate all the brown sugar they had given me in a nano second, followed it up with the one packet of powdered hot chocolate. I am surprised I didn't die! I hate camping, you'll never catch me in a sleeping bag under the stars!

Funk that!!!!

I can't believe another year has come and gone to remind us of the tragic death of Aaron Bacon.

Are the lessons being learned? Obviously not if the answer to this question depends upon whether one believes preventable deaths like Aaron's and many others are "collateral damage".  An acceptable loss.

Hope this is okay?

Thanks!

http://caica.org/CHILDREN%20ARE%20DYING.htm

In Memory of the Children Who Have Died at the Hands of Those Who Professed to Be There to Help Them

Children are Crying, Children are Dying
Written by Isabelle Zehnder

Children's worse nightmares have come true
They?ve come to take them from the lives they knew
Taken from their beds in the middle of the night
Handcuffs, pepper spray, the child cannot fight
Hired kidnappers, abductors, it's true
They convince parents it's what they must do
To save their child from dying, they had no clue

Michelle Sutton - Died May 9, 1990

They forced me to run, I was so weak
They forced me to run, I could hardly speak
I pleaded for help I was so ill
I wanted to live, that was my will
But I was crying, and slowly dying
They refused me water, I was so thirsty
I asked for a doctor they would not take me
I asked to go home, they would not let me
I tried so hard to stay alive
But that night I could no longer survive
There was no phone, no radio
We were so far that nobody could know
The others built fires a plane finally flew by
The children explained that I had died
Twenty-two hours on a lone dirt road
A tarp over my body as the wind echoed
Twenty-two hours I laid in the wind
I would have been so chagrinned
My best friend was there, she heard my cries
My best friend was there, she watched me die
Those kids in the dessert were forced to stay
Even after they saw me die that day
My mom, she's a fighter, she wants people to know
What can happen to children when you let them go
My best friend we were close you see
She named her baby Michelle after me

I was one of the children who was crying
I was one of the children who was dying

Aaron Bacon - died March 31, 1994

I held my cup, they wouldn?t fill it
I cried for help they wouldn?t give it
I was so hungry, couldn?t they see?
All they gave me was pine needle tea
I was slowly dying, and I was crying
For breakfast I foraged prickly pear cactus
For me, there in the hills, there was no solace
They forced me to hike when I was so weak
There came a point I could no longer speak
I was slowly dying, and I was crying
If mom and dad knew what I would face
They would never have sent me to this place
No blanket no sleeping bag at night
The temperature reached 25 farenheit
They called me a liar they ridiculed me
They said I was faking while my heart was breaking
While I was crying, I was slowly dying
The sky looked purple I saw lights flashing
The next thing I knew my body was thrashing
I lost the fight for life that day
How many more children must die this way?

I am one of the children who was crying
I am one of the children who was dying

Charles "Chase" Moody, Jr. - Died October 14, 2002

I was only sixteen just being a kid
Laughing and talking, that?s all I did
Shut up, quit talking, get out of your tent
Much as I tried they wouldn't relent
They grabbed me hard in the dark of the night
Three very large men, they held me tight
They grabbed me, we fell to the ground
Three men on top of me, that?s how I was found
I pleaded and cried "I cannot breathe"
But they would not listen to my pleas
As I laid there crying, as I laid there dying
I cried, I wanted to see mom and dad
They wouldn't listen, they were so mad
Those three men sat on my back that night
Those three men made me lose the fight
As I laid there crying, I laid there dying
I prayed dear God get them off of me
I knew in my heart that would be my last plea
As I lay there crying, as I lay there dying

I was one of the children who was crying
I was one of the children who was dying

Martin Lee Anderson - Died January 6, 2006

I know taking grandma's car was bad
I never knew it would make them so mad
I was only there a very short time
Six men grabbed my arm took me out of line
I just got there it was my very first day
Why were they treating me this way?
They ridiculed me, they made fun of me
They pushed me they shoved me
They grabbed me they beat me
Just when I thought that I might die
I saw a lady out of the corner of my eye
I thought dear God she's here to save me
But she just stood by and let them berate me
They were so big and I was so small
I felt I had no chance at all
No matter how much I cried
They would not stop they let me die
They beat me until that final blow
At least it was caught on a video
I know one thing, I didn't deserve to die
I wanted to see my mama, just one last time

I was one of those children who was crying
I was one of those children who was dying

Giavannia "Joey" Alteriz - Died February 2, 2006

It was a cold day in February
All I wanted to do was wear my hoody
They yelled at me said it was forbidden
They made me feel like I was in prison
They grabbed me hard and took it away
I had no idea this would be my last day
Before I knew it we were all on the ground
They sat on me I couldn't make a sound
I tried to tell them I could not breathe
They would not listen to my pleas
They pushed down on my neck so hard
They left my body full of scars
Finally my body went completely numb
I knew the end had finally come
Mama, I would like to say
I should never have died that day

I was one of those children who was crying
I was one of those children who was dying

We do not want to have suffered the pain
Only to learn we died in vain
So please tell our stories all over again
Please be our voice we can no longer speak
Though we know it?s hard, please don?t be weak
Our voices are crying out to you
What on earth are you going to do?
How many more children must die?

Before they stop the crying
Before they stop the dying

Though we're in a better place
We do not want others to have to face
The abuse, the neglect, the crying
We do not want more children dying

Who in the world thinks it's okay to abuse and kill children in the name of therapy?  People in the industry.

CAVEAT EMPTOR indeed.

I am a graduate of Cross Creek Manor in Utah and I know how difficult it is to change someone as I was proabably one of the more difficulte ones. Don't ever think that these programs don't work, they do I AM PROOF of this. I graduated 4 years ago and I am doing wonderful. I decided to change my life. Understand that no one can make anyone change themselves except themselves. You cannot blame anyone for trying to save a child. These stories are exagerrated. They are from Children that would rather be victims than be worng. You will never know unless you go through it and actually finish one of these programs. THEY WORK, IF YOU WORK IT...JUST LIKE THEY TELL YOU WHEN YOU GET THERE.

Well good for you - you survived your "treatment".

Other kids, have not.

That's a fact that someday, when you reclaim your critical thinking skills, you will understand and accept as the truth.

There is hope you will see the light when you turn it on.

Fornits is a wonderful place where BOTH sides can say what they want in an uncensored manner.

However

A.  Don't you think that your post is juuuuuust a bit inappropriate considering the topic of the thread?

B.  Not everybody here is a child playing the role of a "victim"

C.  You would be a wonderful candidate for Scientology.

but A is really the important one in this case.

I am not sure if these ANON's are really former inmates of CCM? Or they are just paid staff members who are told to come here to post?

It doesn't really matter, I guess? I'm not sure what kids dying in wilderness boot camps has to do with Cross Creek Manor, but WHATEVER!

Hey, you know what the best part of the whole thing is? Knowing that while I was nearly dying, along with a couple others that the staff was doing just fine. I thought they were the ones that were more in shape then me? Hell no, their bellies were full with cheese n' crackers (remember those with the red plastic sticks to spread the cheese) and starbursts. The only reason I know this is because by the third day, when us kids were clinging to life........the staff made a decision to give us each a half of cracker with cheese. I remember being one of the first ones, and while I was given my 1/2 cracker looked down into the pack the staff had, a bunch of empty cheese n' crackers, and starburst wrappers. They were running out of food too. But still, if I would have known this a couple days earlier when I had the strength.........I would have gotten the group of 16 girls to rebel against the 4 staff members, and tie them to a tree, and eat all their food.

I can't speak for all these survivor type programs, but they told us in the beginning before we set off that the staff are just like you, with no food or blankets. They tell you the packs they have are first aid. What a bunch of fucking liars they all were!

I don't have time to check each, and every one of these names.....but I chose 5 names I had never heard of and they checked out. So, I am not sure what the heck you are talking about?

f you were never in a program, or a parent of a child in a program, then you have no business posting here.
