Drugs are harmless

Nothing is harmless. But it would be most helpful to this and future generation of kids if people would quit getting all hysterical and categorizing drugs incorrectly.

The important distinctions have nothing to do w/ the transiant legal status of any of them. There's mounting evidence to support the claim that those friendly, supposedly harmless SSRIs that have become so popular lately can lead to just this kind of tragedy.

I've never heard of people hallucinating for hours just a couple of hours after taking crystal meth, though. The family says they were fine earlier in the evening and their sleeping was normal. So you can rule out amphetamine psychosis; it takes a lot of the stuff taken over a long time to do that.

This sounds a whole lot more like these kids took some sort of acid or shrooms or something. Those don't show up on normal toxicology labs because they're identical to compounds produced in our bodies naturally and are present in extremely small quantities.

As they were not dumb kids or wreckless, it seems unlikely that, had they been given the truth about hallucinogenics, would have not done the prudent thing and had a trusted friend babysit them if they wanted to try doing that. But they probably just thought all that talk about the dangers of tripping w/o a guide was just the same bullshit they'd heard about pot from the DARE cop and blew it off.

So rather than frame this as a cautionary tale against all "drugs", let this be a cautionary tale about tripping w/o a trusted guide. The truth of the matter is alarming enough to give most people pause and possibly decide not to try it at all, if that's your goal. But pretending that all drugs lead to hallucenation and death is only going to show you for a fool and ruin your credibility.

The Constitution of the United States is a law for rulers and people equally in war and peace. And covers with the shield of it's protection all classes of men at all times and under all circumstances.
