Cleaning and coloring.  Neither of which inspired me to want to lead a "straight" life.  When I had to stay at the Rez, we had to clean there too but then you spent hours just sitting and wishing it were time to go to the building to break up the monotony and that was the only time that I ever wished to go to the building.  Although I did hate Sundays because of Susan and Jeff Crandall would be there to confront everyone and make the entire day miserable.  "

Glad I missed the Rez years.  Sounds like the rules were different than in the host homes."

Be glad that you missed the rez years.  It was run by oldcomers with a host "parent" who basically slept there and set the alarm.  But you were at the mercy of the oldcomer who was usually someone pissed off that they were stuck at the rez with their same clothes for days and no toothbrush.  That pissed me off when I would have to stay at the rez on a school night and have to go to school wearing the clothes that I wore the day before.  Talk about feeling like an outcast when kids at school would notice that you had the same thing on unwashed for a couple of days.  And if you complained you would end up at the rez for several nights and your clothes would get stuck in the clothing area waiting to be searched.  I know that staff did that shit on purpose because I remember them talking about it when I was on staff.  It was that kind of vindictive bullshit that just made no sense to me.  "

Ah, good old assumptions... here we go again.

Let me guess, you must have blocked every bad memory out of your mind, right? Nothing but happy thoughts for you?  Talk about brainrinsed.

The mere fact that someone can discuss an incident does not mean one is fixated on it.  How many times must we go through this?

You assume too much.  Don't you remember what you learned from group?  Weren't you paying close attention to Ms Pete?  And you call yourself a successful LIFER. note the sarcasm...

Yes and I am sorry, Darren.  I shouldn't have assumed it was you.  That was really shitty of me.

It's easy to make assumptions - no one is immune from it.  It's one thing to gracefully admit you've made an assumption, and another thing to assume something of someone and maintain that you haven't.

What C said about following the program's teaching of "not making assumptions" leads me to wonder - why are there so many supporters of LIFE / GT that DO make these assumptions and get downright nasty about maintaining their stance?  Like those that spout "you have no life because you post here"... really, what's that about - you'd have to post here to say that!
