Hey!!  Doesn't the "Mc" part of your maiden name make you Scottish, not Irish???   What is the slang for Scotsmen?  Crazy fuckers??  (I'm Scottish on my dad's side and he's definitely nuts!!  )

I have found Christian dogma unintelligible. Early in life, I absenteed myself from Christian assemblies.

It's an incredible con job when you think of it, to believe something now in exchange for life after death. Even corporations with all their reward systems don't try to make it posthumous.

I am not a "survivor" of Straight, but yes I was "invited" when my sister was put there.

"Just a visit! It's so important to us!"  I said OK, received a plane ticket, but became very uneasy. There was this news story, about an MIT student, who went for a "visit"...

I "missed" the flight.

My sister was terminated after a few months. She was later diagnosed as schizophrenic.

She is still alive, but not really able to function well. Seems stuck at a very unhappy 13.

I have considered telling her about this forum, but she is so fragile, I do not think bringing back the thoughts would be helpful.

So I am here for her, by proxy.

Wow.  I'm so sorry to hear about your sister.  I'm glad you missed that plane too though.

It's good that you can maybe filter some of this for her.  I wouldn't dream of trying to give any kind of advice as far as these fora go, I have no experience with that kind of an illness.  I can tell you though that it was a little overwhelming for me at first.  I had to come and go because at first it really brought out some strong reactions.  I had no idea the depth of all of this and it really made my head spin for a while.  I don't think it's fully stopped yet.   :silly:    I still have just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.  It was difficult to digest it all at once.  And as you may have noticed, things can get a little heated here.  Many of us can be pretty confrontational at times.  It's to a debatable degree a side effect of those places in my opinion.

I hope you can find some answers here or some information that is helpful.  I know it can get difficult to wade through the thicket of threads and posts but it's worth the trouble.

What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.

Thanks for the kind words.  I don't think there is much I can do to actually help my sister.

I can only try to protect her from further injury.

I think it's possible that her illness would have come to her anyway. But Straight certainly did not help, the ignorant, greedy fucks had ONE diagnosis.

May RAGE and FURIES follow them all the days of their life, and may they dwell in the kennels of Hell forever!

All three of my older brothers were in The Seed. None of them could do for me what you're doing. Would if they could understand it, I think. But they don't.
