Oh, my mistake. Never mind. I'll buy the next round.

If the personal freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution inhibit the
government's ability to govern the people, we should look to limit those guarantees.

Now let's drink to the Irish,
The race that God made mad,
For all their wars are merry,
And all their songs are sad.

May your days be joyfully challenging and your words artfully true

Didn't mean to ruin a perfectly good rant though!!!

Ha!  I once offended a black person by using the word "hooligan".  He assumed it was a new slur for blackfolk.

I had to explain that it actually applied to folk of my ethnic heritage.

I do not believe in the immortality of the individual, and I consider ethics to be an exclusively human concern with no superhuman authority behind it.

Wow, how did we go from a memorial service for our friends that suffered , some of whom died to backbitting , name calling, and racial slurs.

Are you all really still in group?

I did like one point someone made "How are we to impress upon the public our message if we cant even talk amoungst ourselves" Very good point.

I am in shock someone offers a memorial service to honor our friends and it turns into this. In my humble opinion, I wonder what they would say, I wonder how they would feel about this? I wonder if we are all really just wrapped up in our abuse or if we really do care about what happened to the person in the chair next to us.

Have no fear, the memorial service will be done in a professional manner, one that I think would make those no longer here , feel cared about and remembered.
I really like the idea of the chairs. I think thats better than the coffin the empty chair with a name.
So, for those of you who care about what happened to the person next to you, who wish to honor those that paid the ultimate price, who want to remember them and  band together and in some small way and let the world know their death was not in vain , by all means join us.
For those of you that wish to continue to tear each other apart, to hurt the person next to you with words well maybe it just isnt your thing and thats ok.
I look forward to getting together. I think, not sure after this.
Straights Biggest and most effective weapon and tactic was and ALWAYS has been to set one against the other, to give brownie points, to those who confront, emotionally destroy or physically abuse the one next to them so they can ask for 2nd or 3rd phase.
Are you all who are YEARS out of the program really still falling for that. It tears at the rest of us to see you all do this to each other AGAIN!!!

Just a thought

Finally someone who is making sense! The same people who cry abuse seem to be the same one's that enjoy abusing others. Seems to make their case invalid. Not saying that it is invalid, but why should anyone care about their abuse when they seem to enjoy being abusive to other abused / oppresed groups?

And in case you didn't know "clogs" is a slur on the Dutch, and "Gin" is a slur on aborigines.   And again, I apologize to anyone I left out.  Where we going to drink, Ginger?

It's really complicated.

We must create an atmosphere where the crooked cop fears the honest cop, and not the other way around.

I dunno. I have a bar in my basement, but it's not heated so it'll have to be in the Spring.

It only takes a little prescience to understand that we're all fair game for the deeds we condone.

Did you guys not take the cue?  Good natured cutting up has kicked in!

What would the departed want?  I would think they would want to know that in spite of all the shit, that we're able to laugh once in a while, even about those things that once caused so much pain.

Hope you guys don't mind me crashing in.  I'll buy the next round!

There was a guy from the LIFE program that got out and crashed his motorcycle (on Constitution Blvd,Sarasota)while trying to open a bag of potato chips, and had enough cocaine in his system to "kill an elephant",or so Miss ("Miss",thats wishful thinking on her part.) Pete told us.
