Elan 7 1992-95
« on: December 29, 2004, 08:32:00 PM »
Hey is anyone here from this time? I am having a hard time following everything because a lot of the people are from a time that I was not there. I would really like to see how everyone is doing. I have had some contact with people that I did know, some good, some not so good, some were down right terrible.
I'm doing pretty well, have a good job and I'm getting married in May 05 in NYC.
Let me know how you all are!
Josie

Hi Josie, it is Alissa....remember me? I just found this board a few days ago and have been having fun chatting. Glad to hear you are doing well! I am married with two kids, and have my own business online, so I am pretty busy.  are you still in touch with many people?

Alissa,
Of course I remember you! You were always so nice, and it just seemed like you were another person that was in Elan, but didn't need to be.

What sort of business do you have online? You have two kids right? Julie Cook sent me a picture of you once. You know, the last time I spoke to her she was about to have a baby. I called her back a few weeks later but she never returned my call. Have you heard from her at all?
I keep in touch with a few people, Jon Ferry, Lou Mayerson, a few others. What about you?

I might have met you on a trip or something... I had long brown hair and braces at the time, and I gained about 30 pounds upon entering that place, it was scary. I ran away off a trip to that gym they used to take us to, but came back the same day when I realized hitchiking was not really a good idea!!  :wstupid: lol

I was on the trip to the movies when Dawn B split, that was f*^ked up. I always think that there was something I could have done, but we were both re-entry at the time, I had to watch the people who were actually suspected of trying to split, not her!

That's funny, about the whole football thing... they didn't have that when I was there. Did they actually have the gear and everything??
I tried to run 3 miles once just to prove to everyone that I could, and although I finished the 3 miles, I almost passed out from exhaustion.
I remember playing soccer against the other houses in the summers, that was pretty fun.
I was there the year when they named Elan 7 the Bucaneers, and at the time everyone considered us to be "robots" so someone suggested that we be the "terminators" which I thought we should have been, but Tania wouldn't let it happen. Too bad, it would have been really funny.

I didn't mean it to be offensive, but I have a feeling he DID...  I just meant the diet he made all the girls do.  It seems like backward logic to me anyways...  There weren't THAT many girls there who needed to go on crash starvation diets the way Peter enforced it.  By encouraging the girls to look good, isn't that in a way tempting the guys to look and "acquire guilt"?  Even if the point of the diet was primarily for health reasons, which I have a hard time believeing by the way, I think they blew things out of proportion when guys stared at the women.  Or even just checked them out for that matter.  Come on, we were teenagers!!!  I was certainly checking a few out myself, and never copped to it either.  I think it was perfectly healthy and normal.  The whole thing is someone reminiscient of the Catholic church actually.  And I was raised Catholic, so I am knowledgable on the subject.  It's okay though, I am recovering now.

Andrew,
I don't remember hearing your name. Who was coordinators/re-entry when you first got there? I was working for the last few months I was there, so I wasn't in the house that often. If you told me who was there, that would give me a better idea what time you were there and maybe we did meet. All this stuff I hear about Peter Rowe is a little upsetting because Peter was always there for me, he really made me laugh all the time. I don't remember him having a "diet" though. He was probably just trying to help but it's like he went about it the wrong way. Anyway, him and Hiram and Tania and Dave were always really good to me.

I was a coordinator with John Gaffey, Mark D'Ambrosia, Tanya Vange, Chris Getoor, Luke Thomas, Matt Talbot...  Hmm, can't remember too many others.  I have an old pop somewhere around here, if I find it I'll post more names for ya.

I just re-read your post, and realized what you were asking.  Let's see, Matt Hall, Christina Loos, Tamar Stern, Jon Spinnler, Pearl Freidman, Melissa Gargac, Mitchell Blasi, Dallas Rhodes...  That's all I can remember right now.
