In this day and age, when men are having sexual relations with other men; and women with women; children see this as the example and think it is ok.  Sexual perversion, whether it be between two consenting adults or not, is still just that, perversion.

When the people of this great nation that has been so blessed by God, begin to stand up to what is evil and wrong in the sight of the Lord, only then can things begin to get better.

As a country, we can't tell teens that their sexual actions are wrong, and then support adults who do things that are equally as perverted and wrong.  We must stop telling the sexually imoral couples that what they are doing is ok.  It is not.  It is sending a terrible message to the children of this world.

For those of you with a Bible, read the story of Soddom and Gomorah.  God destroyed these two ancient cities as a result of their sexual immorality.

Why the hell is sexual perversion crossing your mind when the whole issue is if we're treating them effectively or not?

People like you who cling to dogma and obviously haven't totally repressed your OWN sexuality but take it out on others make me rather sick.

The point of this is are they being TREATED, not your own uptight stick-up-your-ass (but you can't enjoy it!) issues regarding sex that doesn't agree with your religion's ideas of it.

Why don't you go keep your kids from masturbating and leave us alone, anon?

Being sleepy can impair someone's ability to do thier job.  People
can sleep at home and come to the job with sleepiness still in their system. The sleepiness can still be there long after the employee has slept. When someone is found to be sleepy on the job, they can claim that they went to sleep the night before.  The only solution to this problem is to ban employees from sleeping.

There is absolutely no evidence supporting this in the bible.

You seem to be confused about the role of government and the people as opposed to the role of parent and child.

Our government was established under our Constitution, to be limited; reserving most areas of authority to the states and the people. That's what was so revolutionary about our form of government. Over the course of less than 200 years, we went from a small band of rebellious British colonies to the most powerful nation on the planet; ecconomically, militarily and socially.

It was really pretty simple, eloquent and beautiful. The Federal government took care of defending the common interests of all the states, as represented by the Congress and Senate while the people and the states took care of everything else from ecconomic development to public decency and order issues. It worked. Very well. Unimaginably well.

So why would we ever want to give that up for the expansive micromanagement by cloistered politicos that we have today.

In my opinion, the government has no business defining marriage or doling out benefits to those couples they deem to be properly married. When you marry in a particular church, you agree to a whole list of conditions not addressed by the state marriage licence. Why not just trade the institution of state sanctioned marriage for a simple, private contract between individuals. Get the government out of our bedrooms.

Faith is believing something you know ain't true.

We also shouldn't tell our kids that violence is wrong, while our leaders are killing thousands of innocents in their lust to procure the natural resources of another county.

Do you have a 'scientific' argument that might oppose same sex unions, or is it strictly religious? We are supposed to have seperation of church and state, not laws and policies based on religious dogma.

You have the right to your opinions, you don't have the right to force them on others. A concept that is obviously impossible for the fundamentalist right to grok. You are an arrogant bunch.

Here we go with the Bible thumping again.  That fictional book also says you should stone your kids if they disrespect you.

Have you ever heard of the separation of church and state?  Guess not or you would realize that this country was set up and based on living in FREEDOM.  Please stop trying to legislate my morality.  If you want to believe in that collection of fables, great....really but don't tell me that I have to accept it.  My constitution guarantees me that I don't.

What's up with Pegasus. Their facility at least looks clean and sanitary... which obviously says nothing about the 'therapy'. Where do their funds come from to enable them to provide a sanitary facilty?

I lived in central tx for 22 years. It is hotter than hedes in the summer. And you don't get much breeze in the pines. They need fans at the minimum. There's not a parent around who'd send their kid to summer camp to live in those conditions. Now why, is it okay for 'offenders'? The fact is, its not.

Charge what you need to charge, or get out of the business.

And here's the real kicker.... WT was licensed. SOME lame brain from the state licensed this place, as is. Heaven help the kids. The real victims in all this."

Pegasus,  I thought their attidude and treatment towards the kids in the area of human relationships was horrid!  I thought their way of interacting, bossing around, imposing negative expectations, restricting family contact b/c behaviors, etc...was horrid.  By the way, so did the kids who came to me at Woodside, from Pegasus.  They got kicked outta Pegasus, and Woodside held on to them and helped them (on multiple account)  You see some of those kids have had everyone in their life give up on them, kick them out, abuse them or leave.  It's important to give them some consistancy.  Then camp got shut down on them.  They were hurt, the kids...they left crying, not happy that it was closed, crying b/c their home was gone.

Remember, Deb, the staff lived with the kids in the woods, for a couple of days at a time.  We went swimming, played with water hoses, whatever to keep cool.  Anyhow, the heat wasn't that unbearable, you're probably just spoiled.  The people who pioneered this place, and settled, and lived didn't have AC, they didn't find it that unbearable.  I went camping with my family every summer, sometimes for weeks. The heat was never unbearable.  We're just conditioned to modern conveniences....not b/c humanity "needs" them.  We Americans are just spoiled by our wealth...you know it!

Yes, it was liscensed, and did quality work.  I'm sorry you can't wrap your mind around that, but it did.  It still would if it could.  I know, to those who don't understand the power of what was out there, it's impossible to imagine.  Oh well...I had to post a response...Your bashing in inciteful.  Have you ever worked with troubled adolescents?  Ever experienced the spectrum of RTC's in anything other than news.  I'll grant you that there is fucked up shit in the industry...a lot!  I've seen it, hell I've done things I wish I'd never done, said hurtful things, been overly aggressive in restraints...shit happens, but that's life.  At least in some of the facilities people are truly willing and able to "help"  WTTC was a non-profit coorp.  Nobody was getting rich, in fact we were all scraping to make ends meet, but we did the job for the kids that we were helping.

Does it mean nothing to you that every single person posting on this sitewho has had personal contact with the people at WTTC has had good things to say about it?  That should mean more than a friggin news story!  You know better than to trust the news about everything!  Oh Well, I'm trying to drop it...enough said.[ This Message was edited by: Antny on 2004-11-10 18:13 ]
