Journalist Seeks Info, First-Person Accounts
« on: August 22, 2004, 02:51:00 AM »
I am a journalist, seeking information about Pathway FC, on either side of the arguments, for purpose of publishing an article in major newspaper.
To anyone having direct contact with PFC, former "clients", family members, PFC personnel (past or present), or any other direct information, please contact me by email address below, or by the email link in "profile", at bottom.
I have some basic info provided to me by Pathway, (video, brochure, etc.) but I am sure that's only part of the story.
The money involved is obviously significant, and recent fund-raiser at Comerica Park (Tigers vs. Yankees) indicates corporate donors.  It appears from the budget that 85% of the money goes to "Salaries" (as opposed to Art Supplies, Field-Trip to Greenfield Village, Textbooks, Musical Instruments, etc.)
My duty as a journalist requires objectivity, and I intend to maintain such.
I do, however, know as fact that false propaganda is at the foundation of Drug Prohibition (e.g. any reference to "Drugs" is a textbook example of "Glittering Generality".)
I also know, and can prove, that approx. 98% of the "Drug Problem" is caused by Prohibition, and the money required to pay for those "Black Market" commmodities.
Kids wouldn't be huffing glue, if cannabis could be purchased at the local farmer's market for $5 per pound.
People, including kids, wouldn't be stealing to buy cocaine if it was sold over-the-counter, without prescription, for the "fair market" price of $2 per gram (two dollars).
I also know, and can prove, that the Drug Prohibition laws, including minimum age for alcohol and tobacco, are all unconstitutionally arbitrary.
Thus, my thesis at present is that Pathways is founded on a "Big Lie", as were the strategies of Adolph Hitler & Co., and the McCarthy-era "Witch-Hunts".
Anyone who has valid argument to the contrary should present it.
Anyone who can provide me with solid, first-hand information about PFC, especially its history, would be greatly appreciated.

what kind of homo are you?  Pathways saved my life and that isn't propaganda.  I would be dead, insane or in jail if I hated attended Pathways as a 13 year old boy.  I was on the wrong "pathway" so to speak.   I am renewed because of the miracle of pathways.

Thank You for your reply, and its information.

To answer your question, I am not a homo, and that is a rather lame attempt at insult.  I am confident you can do better, if you apply yourself.
Honestly, I would like more detailed information from you, as to your age (then and now), what put you into Pathways, who paid for it (and how much), and any other information you could provide.
Your personal observations, ideas, opinions are valuable to my research.
I am an honest guy, and will admit any error on my part.
I did not specify any "propaganda" by Pathways, because I don't know enough about it.
I do know, and can prove, that Drug Prohibition (like Alcohol Prohibition in the 1920's) causes far more harm than it does good.
Pathways is founded on the Drug Prohibition laws, would not exist otherwise, and the Officers and other personnel are paid many thousands of dollars each year.
That is an inherent form of false propaganda, called "vested interest".
I am not involved in Pathways in any way, except that I know one person who has gone heavily into debt, to pay for his kid's "failure" (now serving a lengthy prison term.)
I am not being paid one penny for "taking the other side" of the argument.
Please contact me at your first convenience, I would welcome any info, and your personal knowledge.
I will readily admit if I am wrong.
I'm glad to hear that you are doing better now.
  Thanks, again, for your reply.

P.S. To "Anonymous", above:

You made an interesting "subconscious slip" in your first reply, above:

"...I would be dead, insane or in jail if I HATED attended Pathways as a 13 year old boy..."

  [capitals added]

Of course, you meant to write "hadn't", which you corrected in second entry.  Perhaps you were a bit pissed-off at what I wrote, or then-again, it might have been a simple "typo".

  Thanks for the info...
