Truth be told, kiddies, Virgil is a fearful, pathetic old man.  Just today I went by his house/church in Madeira Beach, with my pal Cayo (thanx for the ride).  First we just hung out and looked at his house, then decided to check out his "church".  I have a deep and abiding interest in Orthodox theology and architecture, so imagine my delight at being able to see his place of worship, truly one of the finest examples of Orthodox cathedrals in the Tampa Bay area.  I noticed an audible alarm chime as I approached the front door to read the worship schedule and peruse the pictures of Virgil's Lord and Savior that were posted by the front door.  This was the first, but not last indication that Father C is a paranoid old coot who lives in fear of being "confronted" by those that he has "helped" in his "past".  The bottom quarter of the venetian blinds in the front window were opened as I was there, clearly an indication that I was being observed by those inside the sacred chapel of the Christ AT the Sea Foundation.  This seemed to me to resemble the paranoia displayed by crackheads and freebase cocaine users, but who am I to judge the Christ AT the Sea types if they enjoy inhaling a few cocaine hydroxide vapors?  A few minutes later, we heard the sound of a door closing coming from the front of the church.  We first identified the lovely Ruth Ann, still wearing the same Dorothy Hamill/wedge hairstyle she wore 20 + years ago, walking towards a champagne colored Toyota (sorry for not getting the tag #, I was overwhelmed by Ruthie's beauty).  Soon after, the Great Man Himself emerged, nattily dressed in his Father Cassian costume.  We decided to follow them, but were disappointed to realize that Ruthie was merely shuttling Virgil across the street to their abode, a distance of some 120 feet or less.  He emerged from the passenger side soon after being safely delivered to his driveway, giving glares to Cayo and I as she glared back and I smoked a cigarette, giving Virg a "SEG" and trying to hold back my laughter at this pathetic old codger who was desperately trying to maintain his dignity and conceal his fear.  Truly a sight to behold.  This pathetic old shell of a tyrant is spending his last (we hope) dying (not fast enough for my taste) years in fear, and I am quite amused.  Virgil, you are a pitiful old fuck.

That sounds a whole lot like what happened when a couple of friends of mine went to get some information from the offices of Drug Free America Foundation. Only you tell it a whole lot better!

So these two ladies, having some time to kill between engagements in the St. Pete area, decided to drop in on the DFAF offices and see what they had by way of educational material on MJ. Oddly, they found the front door locked, though there were obviously people inside. So they knocked. Then they waited. Then they knocked again. This was in mid afternoon on a weekday, mind you; during regular business hours, not like late at night or a Saturday morning or anything.

Eventually, someone unlocked and opened the door, just a crack, to ask them what they wanted. "We'd like some educational material about marijuana", they said. The door snaps shut, a few minutes pass, and the same person (who Jodi swears was Betty Sembler herself) opens the door, again, just a crack, and stuffs a single brochure through the crack and says "Here! Now go away!"

Now, I ask you, is that any way to conduct business as an educational foundation???

My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

Crazy as it may seem, I think they actually buy into their own bullshit to an astounding degree. They really thought we'd all be grateful to them. And they still think only a small, vocal minority of us are not and we don't matter anyway cause we're all druggies.

Darlin, there are plenty of other, better ways to make money and these folks are wealthy enough to have people onhand to give them the very best advice about how to do that. There's more to this than just the economic capital.
