Gibby Hanes and His Problem

New album from the frontman of the Butthole Surfers coming out. I think August 24thish.

Using synths and loops and cakewalk this time around, but supposed to be quite psychedelic. "Redneck Sex" is the name of one of the tracks. Should be a delight.

Bye now.

Those guys got around 12 different bands between all of them.

P with johnny Depp
Honky/ Jeff Pinkus
Daddy Long Leg/ King Coffee

Sean Gram in Little Rock keeps in touch with Pinkus and keeps up with all their doings.
plus all the guest appearences; Ministry, etc.

When I think about these rehabs I gotta think of the classic pre-Rollins Black Flag tune called Revenge, "We're gonna get revenge, you won't know what hit you"

Daddy Long Legs, now that's a band I didn't think a whole lot of people even knew about. They used to be called Bop Harvey. I went to a show of theirs many years ago.

am looking for people who survived Straight in Plymouth, Michigan. I miss a lot of people there and wonder what happened and would like to stay in touch.

Jeff Pinkus is the gnarly bass player that joined the band 1985-1986. The Butthole's lineup has changed over the years (like other bands). Their lineup over the years is on a website, but I can't recall which one. Their cover of Donovan's "The Hurdy Gurdy Man" is one of their best songs.

Listening to them is exactly like being both drunk and tripping. I haven't found any band to capture the sound of LSD quite as well. I hear Gibby has had a crack cocaine problem and hence the lack of focus after Electriclarryland. Weird Revolution was disappointing. We'll just have to see how Gibby's new effort works out. It will probably be interesting.

I saw them when we opened for them (twice) in 1985. They put on a great show both of those times. Once at the WUST Music Hall in DC..totally surreal! And then later that summer at the 9:30 Club too...Funny dressing room antics at that one...pyrotechnic stage show...oh man! they were fukkin good back then!! The last time I saw them was opening for The Cramps on new years eve of 88-89. They were running those fucked up movies behind them the whole time,,Leary wore a 'fro wig...ok, but not like the old days..
